José Baez, Casey Anthony's Lawyer: From Troubled Son to Star Defense Attorney {AOL Noticias}

Jul 6th 2011 9:40PM Clearly a huge numer of people do not understand how the U.S. legal system, based upon English Common Law -- NOT Napoleonic Law, works.
They have no concept of the requirements of the criminal justice system.
That jury required only ten hours total toelect a foreman, organize study of evidence and three months of testimony -- and return a strong verdict of Not Guilty on all charges of murder.
This is realty --
Politically ambitious prosecutors overreached in charging by miles, did not have EVIDENCE to support any of those charges and lost their efforts towin elective political promotions.

What the prsecution did succeed in proving is that the Anthony family is one dysfuctional mess. From the tons of testimony of eye witnesses, Casey was a doting, affectionate and responsible mother.
Casey also was dominated by both parents and her brother.
Which somehow is involved in the partying binge after Calley's disappearance.
The situation reads that someone in the family was responsible and the dominated Casey simply lost control of her life with the knowledge eating at her.
The prosecutors wanted to avoid involving the former cop. Trying to railroad Casey was their easy way out.
I may have missed it, but did anyone every present DNA evidence proving who Calley's biological father is?

Delta Air Lines charges returning soldiers for checked bags {Gadling}

Jun 8th 2011 12:40PM Delta is only making MULTIPLE MILLIONS in profits from these military contracts.
If one of these combat zone veterans who has spent a year, and usually a year with several tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, is returning with his full gear, weapons included -- and Delta charges any one of them a single dime for anything -- Delta is showing extreme greed.
Delta is making serious profit and can afford meals, drinks and buckets of peanuts for these people.
My partner have flown Delta many times this century. Members of our company have flown Delta. Clientele have flow Delta at our expense to train with out staffs.
Unless we hear Mas Pronto that Delta has refunded every dime to all servicemen charged for their combat equipment to fly -- We and out company will be flying American, United or AMTRAK, rather than fly Delta again.

Are Red Rover, Kick Ball and Freeze Tag Risky Summer Camp Business? {ParentDish}

Apr 20th 2011 2:54AM Those money grubbing Noo Yawk bureaucrats would have been an absolute hoot with the trains of pack horses and covered wagon caravans which took my ancestors west.
Hey, even in the days of my pre-teen years, it would be easy to expect coronaries from them at the sight of us catching, snubbing down, saddling and riding range broncs.
Our Sunday afternoon recreation of riding 800 lb. cattle would have left them gasping for air.
It is easy to predict what their regulations will produce -- entire future generations of sedentary NOO YAWK BUREAUCRATS!!
Just what this world needs.
More incompetence, more parasites, more diabetic fat folk.
Kick ball and wiffle ball are dangerous.
Get a life.
Tightly regulated archery ranges with 12 and 20 lb. bows - dangerous.
Them thar bureaucrats would have defecated cement blocks at the thought of four ranch kids on horseback popping jackrabbits with blacksnake whips -- and shooting any they missed firing offhand with saddle carbines.
Wiffle ball -- WOW!!
Red Rover - WOW!!
Dodge Ball -- OMG!!

MMA Fighter Sergio Salcido Luna Gunned Down at Mexico-US Border {MMA Fighting}

Apr 6th 2011 9:19AM Did any of the HATERS notice -- "A U.S. citizen who chose to live in Mexico to save money."
A simple reality, there was a large population of Native Americans who were robbed, slaughtered and enslaved, reduced to reservation poverty, so that European interlopers could steal their world.
The 50% of Mexico which was stolen by the United States with military aggression in the 1840s, contained a sizable
population of Spanish speaking North American natives, European Spanish, Creoles and "Indios" -- who were guaranteed full citizenship rights, including EQUAL legal status of Spanish as equal to English in these western territories, including all or most of the lands of New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, Arizona and California.
Only New Mexico honored the legal language provisions of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
Many of California's "Mexican owned ranches, mines, homes and businesses" were stolen by Yankees.
Any "white person" from anywhere on the glove could file a mining claim anywhere in the West at no cost.
The original inhabitants of the region were required to pay a high fee to the "Camp Miners' Court" in order to file a claim and mine for gold on their own ranch lands.
Monterey was the early colonial capital and what became Monterey County was one of the more highly developed areas of the state.
A regiment New York Militia was raised, largely from prisons and jails, and dispatched to California at the same time the first invasion was aimed at Mexico.
The New York Militia stole every valuable asset they could identify within the Monterey Bay and Central California region. Large land grant rancheros, businesses, cantinas, hotels, etc. Much stolen with guns pointed at the heads of the owners' wives and family.
Ranch owners and their entire families were taken from their homes at night, drug to an isolated area -- where the women were stripped and all threatened with rape and death if the land owner did not sign transfer documents prepared in advance.
The families were then forced to build makeshift huts to live in, while working their own land as slaves under armed "soldiers."
Please, all you second and third --even seventh generation AMERICANS, explain how you have the right to attack and denigrate people whose ancestors were in North America thousands of years, at the least hundreds of years before your ancestors arrived?
Where did you obtain the divine right to declare your superiority and prior rights.
You only live in YOUR FREE AMERICA because the original NATIVE AMERICANS, including those who traveled between the Isthmus of Panama and the Arctic Circle for thousands of years, were robbed of their world with European disease and some by military power.

When Toby Keith Talks, Trace Adkins Listens {The Boot}

Mar 19th 2011 7:11AM Amazing these youngsters hating all that rocks in 21st Century Country Music.
For those of us who remember
GID TURNER AND THE SKILLET LICKERS
UNCLE DAVE MACON
'LONZO and OSCAR
HOMER and JETHRO
THE YOUNG ROY ACUFF, MIZ MINNY, GRANPA JONES AND OTHERS WHO FOLLOWED -- Many long dead --- but
Mrs. Dicken's boy, LITTLE JIMMY remains.
For the young squirts hating rock ---
Country, with Delta Rhythm and Blues, and some
Nawlins, and some St. Louis and Chicago are all in Rock.
In the early Sun Record days, virtually all the Sun artists slept on motel room floors with Western Swing studio bands and "fill in" the grandstand shows at county and state fairs, festivals, etc.
In Memphis, Sun's rockers shared country band members' living room floors. Their working hosts would arrive home early in the morning and step over Elvis, John Cash, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, the Perkins Brothers, Harold Jenkins (Who became Conway Twitty), Charlie Rich and others from Sun.
Without "hillbilly" and 'Cowboy' music, there would have been no Western Swing -- and Billy Jack Wills would not have developed Rock and Roll as "..fast dancin music" at Sacramento during WWII.
Get with the beat kids. Even metal is mellowing and getting enjoyable to an old timer who danced to BILLY MCGINTY and THE OKLAHOMA OUTLAWS -- before there was an AL CLAUSER and THE OUTLAWS. [AL had a girl singer who became PATTI PAGE.
Except for some of the METAL, GRUNGE and FUSION, and most of the RAP -- There is no bad music
Not Ol' Hank, Pavarotti, beverly Sills, Glenn Miller, nor Chris LaDoux.
Listen closely and enjoy.

Why Did TSA Pat Down Kids, Adults Getting Off Train? {AOL Travel News}

Mar 1st 2011 8:39AM John,
Your paranoid blaming President Obama for the TSA disaster is ridiculous on its face.
TSA was purely a Bush/Cheney invention.
Virtually the entire TSA administration remains Bush/Cheney appointees.
WHY -- Pres. Obama has been unable to get any nominees for TSA Administrator through the Senate Republicans, due to Senate rules. This even when he nominates people far better qualified than the Bush/Cheney political clowns stuck in throughout the federal government's executives.
[i.e.-- Race Track Brown, the county fair horse race promoter Bush named to FEMA Directorship. The record of his incompetence in Katrina Relief is well documented.
And Brown was one of the better Bush appointees.]
This president you hate so much has succeeded in shutting down our Iraq combat operations;
The Afghan/Pa-istan strategies developed by the professional military with all parties involved, has rendered the Taliban defenseless.
The nation's banks are again solvent.
The auto industry is again profitable.
The Bush/Cheney recession which started in'05 and'06 was stopped in its tracks within six months by the Obama programs and we are slowly recovering.

Why Did TSA Pat Down Kids, Adults Getting Off Train? {AOL Travel News}

Mar 1st 2011 8:25AM Another verified incident of TSA people being incompetent, poorly trained and even more poorly supervised.
The entire TSA operation to this point is clearly cosmetic. Impact as many people as possible, inconvenience the vast majority of air and now rail passengers -- claiming to be improving security.
In the meantime, thousands for 50-55 foot truck trailers are crossing into the U.S. uninspected monthly.
Tens of thousands of transoceanic freight containers are entering and exiting the country without inspection.
Almost anything up to 80,000 lbs. can be brought in without inspection.
Yet we are not permitted to carry factory sealed containers of any toiletries aboard.
There must be a large room in some federal mental institution where patients are encouraged to sit around a table and devise new TSA rules.
The mental patient with the most adopted suggestion gets to be a TSA supervisor.
Any patient who presents any suggestion then gets to be a TSA agent.
As a frequent flyer since 1963 and throughout the post-9-11 era, the entire Bush/Cheney designed TSA operation is nothing more than a giant "make work" boondoggle.
In 2004, three U.S. military combat veterans were detained for full body searches at 5:00 a.m. at San Francisco. We included combat veterans from WWII, Korea and VietNam.
While we were held in a long line for TWO inspectors to conduct full three to five minute searches of each of the nearly 50 people in that line, several dozen of young men, aged late teens to thirties, with most obviously Middle Eastern -- were rushed through the normal inspection. Zip-Zip -Zip.
Most of the people, including the three veterans, in the full search line --missed their flights.
But some genius has determined that just because 99% of all known terrorists to date have been younger men of Middle East descent -- we must not profile.
Look for the danger among blue-eyed blonde American children and veterans.
Don't even think about selecting larger numbers of the proven population risk group.

Jacob Volkmann Plans to Ride Wave of Attention After Obama Comment {MMA Fighting}

Jan 11th 2011 2:43PM The epitome of American intellectual attainment.
A proud Chiropractic Practicioner who engages in formalized barroom brawling for fun and profit.
Having been treated by various Chiropractic Practitioners and being well aware of their capabilities and limitations, just as Medical Doctors have their capabilities and limitations -- There is no such thing as a Chiropractor with the answers to National Health Care.
Just as there being no Kentucky Derby groom with the answers to owners of thoroughbred racing fixing races.
Oh yes, there are a hundred ways for guaranteeing a race horse will lose a race, with only one avenue for giving a horse a realistic chance to win a race.
The average chiropractor has ability which must be directed to profitable business operation. There business need requires they manage customers for weekly or twice-weekly treatments.
Just as many MDs treat patients for regular office visits, and multiple chemical prescriptions provided by a pharmacy where they, their spouse, offspring or another relative, hold a financial interest, along with stock in the pharmo manufacturer.
Reality, with insurors paying $35 per office visit for chiropractic treatment, the volume office can generate ten treatments hourly, seven to ten hours daily, or as much as $3500 daily.

Mason Holland, Florida High School Player, Suspended After Attacking Referee {Fanhouse NCAA Basketball Blog}

Dec 15th 2010 9:27PM Totally unacceptable.
However in girls HS basketball on California's Central Coast, in the 70s and 80s, this would have been mild.
Individual "Visitor" players were frequently MUGGED by several "home" girls, with the home coaches shouting support. Visiting coaches who spoke up would be called for technicals, and even ejected for pushing the issue.
Home Athletic Directors hired the officials, rather than having officials assigned by a league or district commissioner. In one town, the Mayor and his brother were a well-known officiating team.
Calling a game with "A" as the Home Team and "B" as the visitor -- the penalty calls usually favored the host teams by 3-1, sometimes 5-1. A week later, with "B" as host, and"A" visiting -- the penalty ratio reversed.
Within three to seven days, one team as a visitor went from fouling during every possession, offensive or defensive, to fouling once per quarter at home, with the other team exactly reversing the pattern.
One of the star MUGGERS grew so accustomed to being permitted such conduct, than when she was whistled during an out of county tournament with quality officialting -- she walked up behind one official and knocked him cold with a blind side fist.
Her coach insisted the official provoked his player.

LeBron James' Cleveland Homecoming Didn't Prove What You Think {Fanhouse NBA Blog}

Dec 3rd 2010 12:50PM A great many PRO sports FANS need grow up and get some common sense.LABRON and most NBA Stars; past, present and future; fill seats with Paying Posterior from their high school years into the pros.Labron gave Cleveland everything he had for 11 years. Throughout the first four years, he earned an athletic scholarship at a select private school. Value -- $20,000-$50,000.The next seven years, he started well for a high school grad, with no college -- but by year three at the latest, was the most underpaid high level professional athlete in country.He built the Cavs into hugely profitable business, and the immature owner pocketed his profits, refusing to pay Labron's value, instead of his artificial "small market maximum."The Cavs also failed miserably to acquire at least two more top tier players in a drive to the NBA title.In the meantime, everyone (including several of his own teammates) gloried in the constant Labron highlights play.Labron was well aware by last spring that there was no future in Cleveland. No hope for the NBA title, no hope for earning the top income befitting the NBA's best All-Around player.Look at last night's numbers. Sure, Labron James had his best numbers for Miami, but so did his teammages. Even players outside the ranks of the big three. They finally produced the team play we've been expecting.Before he retires, Labron will be the highest paid NBA athlete.
