Jul 17th 2011 12:16AM It is no fun. The visibility is very very poor, and you cannot tell how fast the cars in front of you are going, sometimes until it's too late. One of the big problems is that some cars will slow down and others will run up behind them and hit them. Several were killed on I-10 last year in one of these storms. Also, people will pull off the road and stop, but leave their lights on. People follow the taillights and run smack dab into them. I remember traveling between Phoenix and Tucson in a convoy headed by a Highway Patrol car years ago. The storms aren't as bad as in the past, though, since there is not as much farmland. The empty farm fields would just rise up and blow across the roads in the old days (1960s-1980s).

The way it was written, saying that men are no better than wild animals, is supposed to be humorous, I guess, but is offensive on several levels. For one, it insults and demeans men. And for two, it states that women are fools to expect any different from men, so, in other words, they deserve what they get. Just like people used to say men couldn't help themselves and that's why they raped women. Just a stupid article through and through.

Jun 23rd 2011 6:42PM I've noticed that a lot of men have an unreasoning hatred of Justin Bieber. Sometimes "teen idols" or male "sex symbols" have this effect on guys. They can't see why the girls like them, because they seem effeminate and untalented. It goes back to Rudolph Valentino, who was the idol of millions of women, but hated by men who called him a sissy boy and wanted to fight him.

I enjoyed Jeff's performances and hope he finds some peace now. None of us can know what he went through with his back problem and addictions. I can certainly sympathize, though, having had back problems myself.
