Lost Maya Temple Discovered In Guatemala {Gadling}
Jul 26th 2012 12:20AM The Yucatan of Mexico and Peten area of Guatemala are rich with countless ancient cities and temples that have yet to be discovered. Archaeologists have just begun to scratch the surface of the Mayan civilization. In addition to those, there are numerous Olmec sites as well.
One day, that area will reveal much more information on civilizations that were so vast that they will make Greek and Roman ruins pale by comparison.
There is perhaps no more fascinating area in the world than Central America, and yet it is still largely undiscovered.

Crime in Mexico: Is Puerto Vallarta unsafe for travelers? {Gadling}
Mar 1st 2012 11:28AM It's just not worth it to travel in Mexico these days unless you must. I say this with great regret, since I have always had positive experiences in Mexico and share a lifelong love for the country, its people and its rich exotic culture. But, the statistics are clear. It is now a lawless land.
Speaking from many years of experience in travelling this wonderful country, it pains me greatly to say that. But, facts are facts. There is virtually no dependable infrastructure there to either prevent nor help remedy any problem that can occur because of the lawlessness that prevails. Therefore, you take your chances completely, with no assurance that if you are involved in violence, you will have any recourse whatsoever via the so-called 'authorities' that one would normally expect would come to your assistance.
The sensible thing to do is avoid travel there if you don't have to go there.
Best Boxes for Streaming Internet Video (And More) to Your TV {Switched}
Dec 6th 2010 9:54AM Recently bought a Samsung Blu-ray DVD player with built in internet streaming capability...and it works "ok"...for Netflix, etc...however, streaming movies for downloading is time consuming and there are frequent pauses for 'rebuffering'...
I don't really plan to use the DVD part and would like to know if either the Apple or Roku devices mentioned in this report would be a better fix for just 'streaming' movies?
Please keep your answer simple as I'm not a tech savvy guy.
Thanks for any help.

Lawrence O'Donnell Bemoans Sarah Palin 'Being Allowed to Rewrite the English Langauge' (VIDEO) {AOL TV}
Nov 18th 2010 9:06AM Sarah isn't the Lord High Elocutioner that Obama is...but....have you ever heard anyone criticize or even comment on His consistant misuse of the word "a" when He should be using "an"...those of you who still listen to His daily drivel, and who still speak proper English are well aware of this. Many are not, simply because they have not been taught proper English. Small point, but check it out.
As for O'Donnell, he'll say just about anything to get attention because he's so desparately trying to establish himself as one of MSNBC's pinheaded pundits...along with Olbermann, Maddow and Matthews. They're fun to watch...especially when they constantly help Fox News by forever criticizing them, thus calling attention to their competition....Dumb!
Jon Stewart: I'm More Like Jerry Seinfeld Than I Am The News (VIDEO) {AOL TV}
Nov 12th 2010 2:58PM Maddow benefits by just being in Stewart's company on TV. She is desparately trying to make her mark as a legitimate political commentator for the left.
Unfortunately, she is so obviously trying to follow in the sullied footprints of Kieth Olbermann by acting as an extension of his misguided vitriolic blathering. She seems smart enough to know that she is hooked to a rapidly falling star, but she probably has no choice.
Anyone who's watching the continuing rapid rise of Fox and the fatal fall of MSNBC will understand the rationale.
MSNBC's lineup acts as a great foil for FOX...so more power to 'em! They do serve a purpose after all.
Bambi Knocks Back a Cold One on 'The Early Show' (VIDEO) {AOL TV}
Sep 4th 2010 10:48AM This clip may seem entertaining and funny to some...but, it's actually harmful to animals ....alcohol is very toxic to animals, as are chocolate and other substances that we consume as humans....
NOT FUNNY!
If you truly love animals, you wouldn't participate in this kind of exploitation which encourages such behavior.
And, no I'm not a PETA member....
Chevrolet Volt, Nissan Leaf allowed to use California HOV lanes {Autoblog}
Sep 1st 2010 1:43PM Typical tree hugger law...you're encouraged to buy an overpriced electric car so you can take unfair advantage of the diamond lane, thus helping to defeat it's original purpose.

10 Destinations NOT to Visit {AOL Travel News}
Jul 9th 2010 7:34AM What a stupid excuse of a book!
Not only is it full of errors (NEW Mexico, not Mexico!), but it's premise is a total waste of time.
Include this one on your short list of "10 books NOT to read".
