A Message From the AOL.com Team {Portalblog}
Dec 22nd 2012 3:44AM The guns were purchased legally by Mrs. Lanza. Her son had used weapons before and she had taken him target shooting. There were 2 armed security guards at Columbine, they were no match for the automatic weapons carried by the killers. The children killed in Newtown suffered multiple wounds that resulted in either instant death or they bled out quickly -- this per the medical examiner. The weapon and the ammo resulted in so many high casualties. If Lanza had needed to reload even once, he might not have been able to get off so many rounds. If you have a gun in your home your family members or you are 20 times more likely to take a bullet than an armed intruder. If you have a gun in your house Your are 20 times more likely to shoot a member of your family. Also, a week before Newtown a madman broke into a primary school in China with a knife and began stabbing children. While several were injured, no one died.
Finally, the NRA is the most powerful lobby group in America. Their most recent goal was to defeat Obama. They didn't succeed and now it's time for Americans who are sick of seeing children killed everyday in this country to take a stand and tell the NRA to take their money and use a gun to shoot it up their rectum.
Travel Warning Issued: For Canada? {Gadling}
Sep 29th 2012 3:39PM OH BROTHER! I would take this as a compliment. He could say the same about the U.S. except how else would he shop and spew venom at the U.N.? I have been to Canada half a dozen times, and it's one of the safest places on earth. You could go to the "worst" part of town and not worry that you're going to be a victim of a drive-by. He's a MORON.
Bank Threatens to Foreclose on Stage 4 Breast Cancer Patient {AOL Real Estate}
Jul 11th 2012 2:07PM And we're so happy for you. I've worked all my life and bought a home years ago, but all it took was one catastrophic illness to wipe everything out. One thing you seem to forget is that nearly 130 million Americans are at or near the poverty line and that may include those working 2-3 minimum wage jobs just to make ends meet -- all without health insurance. Not sure you've heard the parable about walking in another person's shoes, but try it sometime. It's enlightening. Nobody WANTS to lose their home; Nobody WANTS to be unable to meet their financial obligations, and I've never meant anyone WHO WANTED to be sick.
Vet's Widow and Son Receive Gift of a Lifetime {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 20th 2011 7:43AM The money is not like life insurance that is paid out all at once. It is usually paid out monthly.
Renaming Your Rescue Dog {Pawnation OLD}
Sep 4th 2011 3:44AM Actually, black dogs of all breeds spend more time in shelters before they are adopted. This is particularly true with older dogs. Unfortunately, this also holds true with black cats. There is some "prejudice" or superstition that keeps black dogs in shelters longer than their fair-haired counterparts.
Oh Ricky, You Weren't Fine: Gervais Banned From Globes Hosting Duties? {PopEater}
Jan 18th 2011 2:34AM It's not anything that Letterman, Leno, or Kimmell don't say every night. Yes, it's their show, and a couple did seem pretty far out. But is there anything regarding Sheen that hasn't been said by someone else?
Brandie the "Death Row" Husky Gets To Go Home {Pawnation OLD}
Dec 10th 2010 4:12AM If the smaller dog was unleashed, it happens, but if the dog was leashed why wasn't the owner able to control their dog? As the owner of a small dog, I am always on guard around bigger dogs, leashed or not. One owner whose dog tried to attack my dog while they were both on leashes, actually knocked it's owner over, and I saw another dog shake my neighbor's dog like a rag doll. I certainly wouldn't want that dog anywhere near me or my dog after it had killed another dog. One is one too many when it comes to killing. They kill wild animals who kill humans because once they get a taste there is no going back. I support the one strike law.
Lisa Marie Presley 'Didn't Understand' Her Relationship With Michael Jackson {PopEater}
Oct 22nd 2010 1:59AM First off, Lisa Marie inherited virtually all of her father's money, including the money that rolls in every year since his death, so she's hardly some goldigger. You really must get an education. She looks like her father, but while he may have had a drug problem, she never has. And I'm still not sure it wasn't MJ who married her because of her father was. There was and will ever be only one King, and that was Elvis.
Why It's Good That 'Law and Order' Is Over {AOL TV}
May 18th 2010 3:02AM I miss Law & Order Criminal Intent the most, but I don't think NBC executives are CAPABLE of making any good decision, given the last 2 years. They canceled Southland without really giving it a chance. The Conan OH YES I CAN REPLACE JAY, SO JUST RETIRE HIM gigantic fiasco. Then they buried L&O on Friday night. When was the last time they made a WINNING DECISION?
Could Your Hair Color Give You Liver Disease? {Stylelist (Main)}
May 13th 2010 5:57PM Yikes, I get my hair dyed every few months, but this is scary stuff. I thought the chemicals they use now are much safer than what they used to use. I will probably still dye my hair but I might also consider going back to henna, although it doesn't last as long.
