Waldorf-Astoria Faces Third Bedbug Lawsuit {AOL Travel News}

Jan 7th 2011 1:53PM Theresa... they treated her as you say "callously" because she BURNED HERSELF with the hot coffee. SHE chose to take the lid off and put it in between her legs. No one at McDonalds spilled it on her or caused her the injury. She SHOULD have had to pay for it herself. Take responsibility for your own actions. That particular lawsuit was the one that pushed the world out of control. Everyone now thinks someone else is to blame for their own mistakes.

This is also a frivolous lawsuit from the aspect that the hotels are doing everything they can to prevent these infestations. The little critters are resistant to most insecticides and are awful to kill. Once you get a room cleaned, the next guest can easily reinfect with their own luggage.

Should she be compensated for the bites? Maybe, but 10 million? Not hardly.

Quiznos coupons for free drink and chips with sub purchase {WalletPop}

Apr 8th 2010 7:22AM sorry, I wouldn't eat at Quiznos ever. Their commercials are offensive and I can't get passed that. They can give me all the free food they want.

Make the Most of Parent-Teacher Conferences {ParentDish}

Mar 4th 2010 8:22PM Oh I am not a teacher, but i am very familiar with IEPs. We just have a different belief system. No need to call people names. I respect the teachers in my district. I want my kids to respect them and be responsible for themselves and their own work. *shrug*

Mar 4th 2010 6:16PM Then you wouldn't be the ones in conferences that are surprised that your kids aren't getting good grades. I am not a teacher. I just understand that they are the authority in the classroom and I have to reinforce that at home. If the work is overwhelming, then talk TO the teacher, not AT the teacher. The are ways to do that without being confrontational and putting the teacher on the defensive either.

Mar 4th 2010 5:03PM I also think you should be willing to see the teacher's perspective, and not look to defend your child by attacking the teacher. You should back the teacher up as an authority figure in the classroom as well. Too often we let our kids think they can do no wrong and it's always someone else's fault. Perhaps your child has bad grades because he doesn't do his homework or study for tests? That certainly isn't the teacher's fault, it's the student's responsibility! It's time to get back to personal responsibility, and give the teachers the authority to do their jobs.

Stupidity at its best - alcoholic falls down stairs- sues hotel for brain damage {Gadling}

Feb 10th 2009 4:53PM Yep, that's who's REALLY to blame. McDonalds. That lawsuit taught us that someone else is ALWAYS responsible for our actions. EVEN when we take the coffee in our own hands and put it in our laps, Mickey D's is responsible.

This is the worst thing we can teach our kids, that it's someone else's fault.

American Buffalo: Shutters Within First Week Of Opening {BV Newswire}

Nov 25th 2008 8:02AM Great White Way

Plaza
BroadwayGreat White Way is a nickname for a section of Broadway in the Midtown section of the New York City borough of Manhattan, specifically the portion that encompasses the Theatre District, between 42nd and 53rd Streets. Nearly a mile of Broadway was illuminated in 1880 by Brush arc lamps, making it among the first electrically lighted streets in the United States.

The headline "Found on the Great White Way" appeared in the February 3, 1902, edition of the New York Evening Telegram. The journalistic sobriquet was inspired by the millions of lights on theater marquees and billboard advertisements that illuminate the area, especially around Times Square.

Fashion's Short Fall {oldstylelist}

Oct 25th 2007 3:13PM Oh please! Try being a "woman (read:plus) size" that needs talls. There is next to nothing available. Atleast the petites *CAN* shorten pants (I understand it's a pain), but what can I do to add length? In the catalogs the woman's sizes inseams are usually a half inch shorter than the Misses sizes! Why is that? Most pants sold in the stores are a 30" inseam, and I am a 33" inseam for flats. I have a wide bottom and hips, and full thighs. I seldom find (other than jeans) dress pants that are long enough. Any ideas, Ladies?
