I read a lot of the articles put out by AARP and they certainly are a positive group, always promoting how much "life experience" helps when applying for jobs. The reality is that companies don't want to hire us "old" folks, no matter what AARP keeps trying to tell us. I don't care if it's illegal to discriminate based on age, it happens every minute. How can you prove that you weren't hired based on your age? You can't, so that law is pretty meaningless. I have been out of work for two years and if it weren't for my boyfriend, I would be living under a bridge.

Oct 29th 2009 3:17PM The guy was warned, defied company policy and was fired for it. End of story. The poster that suggested that everyone wear a religious button to Home Depot - the policy is for employees only, not customers. What good would that do?
Those who are upset by separation of church and state should read our Constitution. It's against our Constitution to promote religions. If you don't like that, then good luck on changing the Constitution. That's what it would take.

Oct 6th 2009 5:16PM All you posters who think you know everything....how come 99 percent of you don't know how to spell or punctuate? When you are too stupid to know how to spell or puncuate or construct a proper sentence, you make everything you post null and void. By the way, "alot" is not one word. It's "a lot." I could go on and on but if you didn't learn how to write English in grammar school, it's too late for me to point out the obvious.
