Yes, as Pucci says "seasoned travelers know that it pays to look beyond information provided by the U.S. State Department." Take it with a grain of salt, but know if you get in a situation there will be 'told you so' than not.
I hope #1 is not implying common sense dictates to ignore those warnings, or go by a friend of someone on the internet who had a great time in X country.

Oct 22nd 2007 9:21PM I wouldn't doubt the 250K number; here in Asia you can get unlocked iPhones in the IT malls of Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and by the number I see the airports and around town they're flying off the shelves. People here aren't so concerned about support (the unlockers in the malls provide upgrades/unbricking) or price - much crappier phones go for more.
The official release can't come soon enough! Until then they can have mine only when they pry it out of my cold dead hands.
