Oct 18th 2007 2:30PM Like many other religions, Hare Krisnas believe woman to be the source of the men’s downfall (apple and Eve, etc). In ISKCON (official HK name), having the 'male body' is considered to be superior to having a ‘female body’. There are no female gurus in HK, and only recently women have been allowed to stand side-by-side with men at temple services. Hare Krisnas believe it is crucial for women to be subordinate and faithful; otherwise their 'lust' will destroy the society.

Although in theory, HK philosophy preaches we are all equal, it is not practiced within the movement. HK are not only sexist, but racist too (they believe that people with darker skin are less intelligent, etc.)
