Nov 5th 2009 5:35PM Kelly - Fox was chosen for me. I have heard that Franz Josef is steeper and poses a bit more of a challenge. Don't let that be a deterrent for you, though, as my understanding is that it is still accessible for people of all skill levels.
I can only speak to my experience on Fox, which was fantastic.

Nov 5th 2009 2:21PM Good eye. The guides cut them in. I was assured that they disappear by the evening and that the environmental impact is minimal. It keeps the glacier safe for visitors and its durable enough to survive the cosmetic work.
