Feb 16th 2008 6:13PM As someone that was a veteran of the food business for 25 years, as well as a degree in the field, one of the most annoying things Ive seen (and thankfully never went thru because I was in the food production side) was the splitting up the check on large parties. Youre out with friends and so on, you can figure things out. I do that when I go out with friends, and for the most part, we just split things evenly with tax and a tip. It takes a FRACTION of the time instead of you having to wait to have a wait staff do that. Remember...as much as theyre making money off you, they do have other tables too.
Another thing...the request to have your food cut in half for you. Utensils are provided for you (at no extra cost) at the table. The Cooks have enough to do. Next thing you'll want is the food to be cut up into bite sized pieces, and then youll want the wait staff to sit next to you and feed you each piece. You are the type of customer Food Service professionals are laughing at when you leave. And yes...They do talk about you so in case you show up again...they will not want to be your server.
TIPS...To Insure Proper Service. Servers make half of what minimum wage is. Do not begrade them, Do not snap your fingers at them Do not "Psssst!" at them. If you do not feel like tipping, may we suggest a good Combo meal of a Big Mac, Fries and a Large Coke. Also...when you buy your food to go, that doesnt mean take it to a table and sit there and eat it just because you dont want to tip.
The Better you tip, the better the chances that the next time you come in whether its alone or with another party, you will be given special treatment. Wait staff also remember the GOOD with the bad.

Say its 2 million more...is there really going to be a MAJOR life adjustment because of the 2 million? What he was making (which even as a Yankee fan I think its outrageous) is MORE than sufficient...at least in the Bronx he has a better chance of a WS. 12 playoff appearances in last 12 years...cant get any better than that. The Agent is the true person to blame. All they think about is money..the bigger the paycheck, the bigger their cut.
