Female teacher at Houston school suspended {ParentDish}
Jan 13th 2008 8:55AM No adult has the right to have any sexual contact with an underage child period! That is where some of you seem to have trouble drawing the line! Some of you basically think it's okay of which the behavior itself is not! A child does not know that it is wrong for a grown up to take advantage of them! And it is wrong for an adult to tell the child to not tell anyone of their secrets! Any adult who thinks that getting away with this kind of behavior needs to be locked up! There is no excuse in this whatsoever!
Female teacher at Houston school suspended {ParentDish}
Jan 13th 2008 8:47AM That is just so vile and disgusting! I think more parents need to be aware that there are definitely pedophiles out there everywhere and that also includes their children's schools! And parents, be aware of any changes your child is exhibiting! I don't care how old your child is because it is your job! Always keep an open communication between you and them! Never assume that they are exaggerating or that they are just merely going through some "normal" teenage stuff! The signs can be trouble!

UK McDonald's chief blames game industry for obesity {Joystiq}
Jan 10th 2008 1:32PM No, the game industry is not in any way, shape, or form responsible for today's children being so obese. It's the food their parents are feeding them or the lack of monitoring of what their kids eat plays a role in this. Parents also need to have their children engage in more after school sports or have them at least, go out and play on a daily basis, whether it is after school or on the weekends when they're off. Kids deserve to live a very healthy life and by having them eat foods that are contained in high fat and cholesteral is what will cause them to gain alot of weight. Not only that, but this can lead to having very serious heart problems and even develop diabetes. They need to eat foods, but they should be served a well balanced diet instead of diets that are nothing, but contained with what I just stated. And as far as the sweets are concerned, they should be given healthy treats instead. Giving them candy is not good. They should be served treats that are of fiber instead of treats that are so full of glucose. Because that is what also causes them besides being obese as having dental problems. The gums becomes inflammed after a period of time and this too, is also a factor of what causes young people to develop health problems.
What Would You Do to Lose Weight? {AOL Video Blog}
Jan 6th 2008 7:58AM Kristine, it does take patience and self-discipline to do what one needs to do to achieve their goal. That's what really prompted me to really do what I needed to do because diabetes runs in my family....my dad and his dad both has it and my maternal grandmother had it but has hers under control. I didn't even want for a second to believe that I had the disease, but the reality sank in and I took action right away.
What Would You Do to Lose Weight? {AOL Video Blog}
Jan 6th 2008 7:46AM Thelma, using the term "fat a$$" will not get you anywhere. Yes there are people who are overweight and are in some need of medical attention, but why resort to name calling? They're no different than the rest of the population. They just have some difficulties in managing their diets, but hey, I was once there myself too so I know what it's like.
If some of these people want some support, then it would help a great deal if you weren't so insulting about it.
What Would You Do to Lose Weight? {AOL Video Blog}
Jan 6th 2008 7:37AM Last year in December, after being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I went on a diet and lost 30 lbs. I was overweight and have been for well over 20 years and for many years, I prided myself on remaining that way until one day, I was told by my physician that I had it after being asked if I have anyone in my family that has this. I didn't want to believe him because I thought this only happens with other people and wanted to so badly to hear this, but after getting a second test done, what I have come to find out was true so I took action right there and then.
I was put on a low carb diet and started exercising on a daily basis and at the same time, I had attended four months of the diabetes educational course. I began losing the weight, little by little and by September, I had lost 30 lbs and I feel alot better than I did before losing the weight. I feel alot more energetic and I went from a size 14 to a size 1.
Man Jumps Onto Subway Tracks for His iPhone {Switched.com}
Jan 5th 2008 12:30AM I would have just let the darn train smash my iphone. My life is alot more important than that phone. A phone can always be replaced, but certainly not a life. The guy's obviously not that intelligent.
One for the Road: Uncommon Traveler {Gadling}
Oct 28th 2007 11:28AM I've never heard of this book, but this sounds like a very interesting story. This would be an ideal book for my nephew whose eight years old. He likes to read and all that. The girl in this story sounds like a real brave and strong one.
Woman tries to open emergency exit -- midflight {Gadling}
Oct 28th 2007 11:23AM Only a nutjob would think to open the door during a midflight. This woman is definitely a nutjob and I hope she was sent to a mental facility. She's clearly a danger to herself and to others.
