Feb 20th 2012 11:15PM The 1st thing that always happens is that the workers are the Ones who end up making the supreme sacrifice. If AA wanted to survive, they should lead by example. But from what I can tell, that isn't the case. The cost cutting should start @ the top with Management taking cuts from their own pay. That way they can say we gave for the good of the Company. I don't mean just a small cut, but get rid of the "GREED CUT". The bonuses & everything else that is paid to the top management is out of control & has been for years.You don't need a salary of 250,000 dollars or more to live. Your don't need all of the additional amenities to live either. Living like that you are never in touch with reality. You don't have a clue on how the real people live from pay check to pay check. The retirement packages & severance packages are out of line too. The workers don't get a package like that. What ever happened to the idea of all men are created equally & that includes everyone. My wish for AA is to go under or be bought by some other airline & that the top management be axed & the real workforce be kept in place.AA needs to pull their head out of the sand & wake up. Put your big boy panties on.

Mar 23rd 2010 1:07PM I won't feel sorry for this person at all when they are out on their own. The parents are to blame for this problem & it is irresponsibile of both the parents & their daughter. She will never be any good to anyone or society! What happened to the saying 'All people are created equally"? This family doesn't know the meaning.The girl needs a knock up side the head to get her to see reality not some fair tail which she isn't.

Jun 19th 2009 1:38PM There is enough bad in this world without more being added.Everytime you turn on the TV, all that you see is there was a murder today, a congressman/woman is in trouble, The current president has done more for the America public then the prior adminstration (lame duck no less) ever did. President Obama has helped heal the world image that the USA never had in the past adminstration. The man deserves a break & a pat on the back for taking on this job that the America public has put him in. On top of that, He himself knew he could make the US a better place for us. Fox News needs to find something constructive & good to report on rather then finding some thing bad or tear someone down like President Obama. Get a life Fox News! When I turn on news & see some of your stories, I just turn the channel to find something Good & Constructive rather then everything BAD!

Road Trip Forecast: The Cost of Gas {Gadling}
Apr 21st 2006 12:26PM Last summer I was driving a 29' motorhome from Seattle to Kansas. Going thru the higher elevations of Wyoming has alot of grade climb. I was getting right around 8.5 to 8.6 mpg on cruise at 65 mph. But,
I made a tradeoff, I would cruise on the relatively
flat areas & on the hills (how ever so small the grade) I would kick off the cruise control & maintain
throttle position versus speed. Upon cresting the
hill & getting back to my set cruise speed, I would
reset the cruise for the flats or the coast down the backside of the hill.
I may of lost some time regarding my desired time
to my destination, but to leave a cruise set & let it keep the desired speed on a hill is like putting a small hole in a gas can & you lose less or putting a big hole & you lose alot. The throttle plate is just like a hole & you regulate how big of a hole you want.
The same applies to the newer cars with a throttle body injection system.
The biggest part of this procedure is to learn the feel for when the vehicle will kickdown to try & maintain the speed & beat it to the punch before it
"puts the pedal to the metal". Also using truck stops for fuel may get you a better savings because their
price is based on volume sold & bought sometimes.
