Parents Television Council Objects to 'Gossip Girl' Threesome, But Will Anyone Listen? {Inside TV Blog}

Nov 8th 2009 5:37PM I think the difference lies in two areas.

1. Soaps are during the day while children and teens are at school.

2. And Soaps don't display highschool students in threesomes/sexual situations.

That being said, Soaps are ridiculous, anyway. :-) Bad acting left and right.

Nov 8th 2009 5:29PM I'm super liberal, but the only thing about these new teen shows that bother me is how explicit the sex is amongst HIGH SCHOOL students. College kids, whatever. But when you glamorize teen sex, I have an issue. There's never any negative repercussions for the skinny, beautiful, glamorous, rich characters in these shows. That's my one beef.

Did Kevin Spacey Get Waiter Fired? {Popeater}

Nov 2nd 2009 11:44PM It happens at other restaurants as well. I was fired when a non-celebrity fabricated a story in order to get a free meal/gift card from a certain cheesy tourist trap shrimp restaurant. Waiters are dispensable, unfortunately. And it's even more unfortunate that there are people - celebrities and non celebrities - who think of waiters and bartenders as nothing more than lower level food robots. Luckily, I don't work in the food industry any more.

Dakota Fanning Is a Homecoming Queen {Popeater}

Nov 2nd 2009 2:22PM Who cares? That's not the case at all schools. And it looks like the sash just says "Homecoming Court," not queen. It's quite common for schools to have homecoming courts made up of underclassmen. But even if that's not the case, does it all really matter? I couldn't tell you who my homecoming and prom royalty were when I was in highschool. Or college for that matter. And I was on homecoming court my senior year of college. It's not a big deal.

Home Depot fires cashier over 'God' button {Careers Articles}

Oct 29th 2009 4:21PM Well said!!! Thank you for bringing some common sense into this issue!

Oct 29th 2009 4:19PM Seriously? I'm sure if he was wearing a button for Islam you'd be applauding his firing. It doesn't come down to religious beliefs but company policy.

Home Depot fires cashier over 'God' button {Careers Articles}

Oct 29th 2009 4:17PM I haven't said the pledge of allegiance since leaving catholic schools in second grade back in '92. The public schools I attended didn't say the pledge of allegiance.

Oct 29th 2009 4:15PM Why? It's a company policy that says only company buttons may be worn? I've personally got no problem with the button, but companies have to cover their butts. What if the employee were wearing a non-christian centric button? If they HADN'T been fired you'd be upset, but applauding that they had. The gentleman should have known the rules in his own contract. I work at a location where we get to wear buttons but none with religious or adult themes. I'm ok with that, and understand the rules. I think he was silly for not accepting the button that says, "United we stand."

Gosselin Apologizes, Tries to Halt Divorce, But a New Kate Plus 8 Moves On {Popeater}

Oct 3rd 2009 2:38AM He wants the show to be DONE with, which is the right thing. Look what it's done; it's ruined a family. She's no saint, either. Both have made mistakes, but I think her wanting to continue to shove her already tantrum prone and behaviorally challenged kids into the spotlight shows poor judgment. Both of them need to step back and reevaluate their lives and family before continuing this show. I support Jon's grown up decision to stop something that might make him a lot of money, but will definitely ruin his life and his family's life in the meantime.

White House Goes After Glenn Beck 'Smear' and Fox News 'Lies' {Politics Daily}

Oct 2nd 2009 1:02AM I supported our president. I voted for the man. I'm thrilled the country finally elected a black president. I am not, however, thrilled with being told I'm a racist because I disagree with the man. I'm wondering why it was ok for the liberal groups to go after a republican president (when there was definitely things that were done wrong, as well), and when anyone voices opposition to plans of the Obama administration we're told we're outright wrong for doing so by the same people who bashed Bush.

I'm a chicago resident and -like many chicago residents- am not thrilled with the idea of the Olympics in Chicago. It means big money for those in positions of power up here in Chicago. The proposed plans to turn the Olympic Village into low income housing are a joke; we all know it. Lakefront Low Income Housing? Yes.... Cabrini Green on the lake. I don't think so. Chicago politics are dirty. Just look at the track record. Suggesting someone might get rich off of the Olympics here isn't out of the question.

Then again, as long as President Obama is spending time devoting himself to the Olympics, he can't mess with our health care system (and this is coming from an uninsured, very liberal, 20 something).
