Sep 27th 2007 3:48PM Atlanta is a wonderful place to live ! It's eclectic, soulful, diverse & rich with history ! Having been a military child and moving exactly every 3years, going to high school in a very let's say "Laguna Beach" like bubble. It was extemely enriching & refreshing to come to a city where black affluence in the norm and not the acception ! I love living here & wouldn't want to raise my family anywhere else, except for perhaps overseas ! I love that my son can REALLY experience what hard work & good grades can get him in the world ! That he too can be the CEO of a major company ! You can't get that lesson everywhere ! Sure you can teach it but there is no better teacher than seeing it in action ! The folks in Atlanta are extremely nice they acknowledge you with a smile everywhere you go ! Sure there are some unsavory areas, but what city doesn't have them ? We are hardly "America's Next Biggest Ghetto" ! Nor are we anything like Detroit I have been there ! There's NO comparison !
In no other city can I actually get help while walking through the airport with a stroller, luggage, and a sleeping toddler that seems 10 lbs. heavier all the sudden ! Here the men just come out the wood works to help ! But as soon as I get to the other city I'm stuck wondering how the hell did I make through the airport ? Ahhh yes ! Those beautiful southern gentlemen !
