Ad Rant: David Spade brings pal Chris Farley back from the dead to shill for Direct TV {WalletPop}

Oct 27th 2009 11:49AM Enough of relatives, heirs, managers, agents determined to make money off dead people.

Let the dead rest in peace. It has gotten so bad "selling of the dead" that people are going to have to write into their wills, please do not use me in any fashion after I am dead.

It is greed people, nothing more, of the people that inherited the rights to the estate, wanting to make more money off the dead!

Ad Rant: David Spade brings pal Chris Farley back from the dead to shill for Direct TV {WalletPop}

Oct 27th 2009 11:43AM I agree with the writer !00%. Enough of this using any dead person to hawk stuff.

Any excuse you may try to offer, this is just making money off the dead by their relatives or heirs.

It is disgusting. What's next. ENOUGH. Let the dead rest in peace.

Hilary Swank on 'Amelia,' Learning to Fly & Meryl Streep {Inside Movies Blog}

Oct 24th 2009 6:34PM I am going to see the movie. To me, Hilary Swank is the only actress at this point in Hollywood, who could play this role.

The critics have savaged the film in my area (Washington DC) but I am going anyway

My Dad was a pilot with a major airline, taught me fly before I was 18, we had a small private plane,and we flew up and down the East Coast

I was always fascinated reading about women who were pilots back in the 30's and 40's when females were supposed to get married, have kids, stay home.

It showed spunk and sense of adventure to break out of that mold. Amelia is an interesting character. She did it her way. (good or bad)

What's the Proper Punishment for the Parents of 'Balloon Boy'? {Politics Daily}

Oct 18th 2009 8:48PM can totally believe this whole story is a hoax. The Father is so uptight, the mother goes along with anything Dad says, and the 3 kids are living a life that no child should have to live.Why do I believe this is a hoax. Less then a week ago, I was home with the flu, and channel surfing. There was this program about wives going for two weeks to each others families. Never seen it before.I watched it, and thought this Father was the worst Father and could not believe his behavior to the "new wife" and his 3 children. I thought how can some one act like this on TV. He was a mental case for real.Thought, I am never watching this wife trading show again. Then the balloon boy thing happens. And I happened to catch a clip on the news, never dreaming it was the same family, until they showed pictures of them.This father (and the Mother) need heavy duty therapy. I feel sorry for the 3 boys, having such parents.

Did 'The Jay Leno Show' Kill 'Southland'? {Inside TV Blog}

Oct 12th 2009 3:17PM NBC is shooting itself in the foot. Leno was mad that they were replacing him with O'Brien, hoping for a younger audience.

NBC got scared that Leno would go to another network, so scared that they agreed to this 5 times a week Leno show, which seems just like what he did late at night.

Two talk shows within 2 hours of each other, it is killing me. Now I don't want Leno and I don't watch Obrien. Obrien gets too spastic, he looks like Howdy Doody on steroids.

Why can't Leno gracefully leave. He's rich enough, but thanks to his forcing NBC to give him this show, he has ruined it for himself and the network 5 nights a week..............

Fox Anchor Liz Claman Defends 'Business-Sexy' On-Air Wardrobe {Stylelist}

Oct 2nd 2009 1:20PM I find it hilarious that Fox News, the so called "voice of the conservatives" has most of their female anchors dress like "Barbie Dolls" not as intelligent professional women.

From their hair, a lot are bleach blondes, to their makeup, too much of it, to the clothing which is more suitable for a MAD Men tryst with their typists, FOX is full of "boys acting locker room male anchors and their blonde female side kicks"

What is up with Bill Reilly having two young blondes on with him discussing the news. He looks like their High School Principal or Father.

The attire this female is wearing for business news is silly. She looks like a cheerleader for Oral Roberts University a few years ago.

Dolce Group Closes Ketchup Restaurant In Alabama {Luxist}

Sep 22nd 2009 1:22PM To me, over time most of the "celebrity" owned restaurants and bars have closed.
These guys hire "friends" or people that may know something but are "star" struck and take the "stars" advice instead of having good restaurant education.

I remember Joe Namath and his bar in NYC, when Joe left football the bar closed, I think Planet H is terrible food, yet I recall when Bruce Willis, Jean Claude Van Damne, and many more stars went to a series of openings around the world years ago. And I laughed, because I could NOT imagine them eating this yucky food.

I think Kenny Rogers chicken chain went belly up and a lot of stars who opened just one restaurant in Los Angeles, have found making a profit is a lot harder, once people have come Grand Opening week, and never come back.

Why is it "stars", movie, tv, singers, sports, feel it is necessary to open a dining place or a bar. Stick to what they are good at.
PS
I felt both the food and the service at Ketchup were so uneven, they should have closed before now. And it sucks that they owe money to many local vendors, plus they are not paying the rest of the lease.

Are you a sucker for shopping at outlet malls? {WalletPop}

Sep 17th 2009 2:27PM I love to shop and it is my hobby. Am in total agreement with this article.

These "outlet Mall's do NOT always have the lowest great prices or the same "real" merchandise they had 10 to 15 years ago.

I see clothing, handbags, shoes, that NEVER is the same at a regular store, that is definitely being made just for the "outlets

And that bothers me, when I buy that $400 Coach bag for $160 at the Coach outlet store, I want that to be the same $400 bag that is at the real Coach Store in Tysons Corner Mall for example.

Yet, I have discovered quite a bit at the Coach Store was made only for the outlets and it is not quite the same quality. So, have I really saved anything, or was that $400 price tag just a sham to begin with.

I go to my local huge Malls in the Washington DC area to check out prices every week. Then I go to the outlet Malls in VA, MD and Delaware at least 4 times a month.

In Summary: When Macy's, Nordstrom, even Neiman Marcus has a sale, you can do just as good in price or better. and they have a better return policy.

Even many items I find at the St John Outlet are styles I never saw at Nordstrom or NM, EVER, so where did they come from?

Believe me, when you spend $1500 to $3000 on a jacket alone, it better the same quality as the big stores.

We have two homes, one a vacation place, and even towels and sheets can be better quality and cheaper if on sale at Macy's then most outlet malls, that do not sell the same quality.

I really think St John is making some items straight for the outlet malls and others to the high end department stores.

So, even though I had become conditioned to go to outlet malls, I am cutting back. The outlet malls are not always any longer the same great buys they once were.

Tom Selleck wins $187k in lame horse dispute {WalletPop}

Sep 8th 2009 8:01PM I have met Tom Selleck a few times, when he was in Oahu for over 8 years filming Magnum PI back in the 80's.

As a tour guide and travel writer, for over 30 years I have been leading tour groups to Hawaii and other world destinations.

I meet quite a few movie and tv stars and have told many people since Mr Selleck is one of the nicest "stars" I have ever met and spent some time with. A true gentleman.

So, I do not think the writers comments about the movie Christopher Columbus were necessary.

However, I have been riding since I was a child, and it is true, when spending that type of money, it is wise to get the horse checked inside and out. Perhaps he did.

We don't know all the facts. But, I do know one thing, it probably cost him a lot to sue, but he is the type of man that would feel the person who sold it to him, needed to be brought to task.

Chris Brown's Smackdown With Oprah {Popeater}

Sep 4th 2009 3:04PM What I would like to know is why Chris Brown did not seek counseling immediately after this episode

When I got a speeding ticket, a week later, on my lawyers strong advice, I went and took the all day refresher state driving course.

Then,a few days later went and took the 2 hour quiz with the state of Virginia to get points credited to my driving record and to show the judge in the upcoming court I was trying to correct my bad driving habits.

So, why didn't Brown get into some "type of domestic abuse counseling" BEFORE his TRIAL?

Because he is stupid, arrogant, and really does NOT think he has done anything wrong?

Why are so many of these readers always against the female. My Mother taught my brothers, NEVER hit a woman. Your sister, your Mother, your Aunt, your coworker, your girlfriend, your wife, NEVER!

I have found in my life, that a man who "shoves" or "slaps" or "hits" a woman, probably has done it to other women. IT is a nasty pattern.

Chris Brown definitely needs HELP. And to you people who don't think so, you don't know abuse!
