Waldorf-Astoria Faces Third Bedbug Lawsuit {AOL Travel News}

Jan 7th 2011 11:59AM When an elderly woman was burned by the excessively hot coffee at McDonald's, she offered to settle with them for $20,000. She had to have surgery, skin grafts, etc. McD's offered her $800. She tried to be reasonable, they didn't. As a result, they were ordered to pay punitive damages in the amount of $2.7 million because of their callous treatment of that lady. Perhaps in this case, the lady tried to settle with them for a reasonable amount and they responded like McDonalds. Here is the article regarding the McDonald's suit.

UBS Gives Employees 43 Pages of Strict Appearance Guidelines {AOL Jobs}

Dec 16th 2010 11:45AM Wow! Talk about infringing on rights! Telling their employees what COLOR underwear they need? I also would have thought that new shoes would be preferred to old ones that are shined. Surprised they didn't include specifics about what kind of earrings a woman could wear or the size of the diamond studs they consider "acceptable." What a friggin JOKE these people are. But hey, if they are like some of the big banks, and financial institutions, they can look great while running the company into the ground, overpaying top executives, and then asking for a TAXPAYER in Walmart underwear to bail them out!

Couple arrested after refusing to pay tip at Pennsylvania pub {Daily Finance}

Nov 21st 2009 8:58AM As a former server who made great tips, I can tell you that if the server took a break to smoke while I waited for my food, that would tick me off! If the establishment wants a mandatory "gratuity" for larger parties, then PUT IT ON THE MENU & tell your patrons! Crappy service gets a crappy tip from me & I don't care if you work for $2.13 an hour. You choose to be a server, that is NOT my problem. I got stiffed for tips more than once, but that's the way it goes. Kids should be TAUGHT by their parents how top tip starting when they are young. Restaurants should be forced to PAY minimum wage to their servers, period! Then you can tax them on their tips or a portion of their sales & not put the burden on the patron to pay their wages. I am a great tipper, usually at least 25% but if the service stinks, then the tip will not be good either & if the service is really bad, you will get NOTHING! If you have never been server, then SHUT UP and stop criticizing those of us who have who feel the service should WARRANT good tips! Remember too, working as a server is a CHOICE, and tipping is OPTIONAL!

Delta joins the ranks of "cashless cabins" {Gadling}

Nov 17th 2009 12:01AM I'm with you. Should be interesting. How about when a card is declined or something due to error? Not the brightest idea Delta or any other airline has had but it is a tracking mechanism for purchases and cuts down on employee theft. Delta will figure out a way to raise the ticket prices or tack on more fees for the "convenience" of going cashless!

Delta joins the ranks of "cashless cabins" {Gadling}

Nov 16th 2009 11:59PM Hey Steve: Are you stupid or what? It said CASHLESS for PURCHASES, not CASHLESS FOR ALCOHOL! Geez! How about juice or water or a soft drink or a snack or sandwich? Moron!

Gratuity Proves Tipping Point for Notre Dame Employee {Fanhouse Backporch}

Sep 16th 2009 7:11PM Andrew, you are DEAD WRONG that the money was hers. It was NOT and errors can legally be corrected! She was wrong to spend it and I doubt she worked that hard to notify Notre Dame. She knew what she did was wrong and now she is trying to play on sympathy. None here for ya, honey!

Nebraska Dad Who Abandoned Nine Children is Expecting Twins {ParentDish}

Jul 1st 2009 2:55PM I worked for the state of Indiana in the welfare department. The allotment for 9 kids was no where close to the figures stated! Same for Medicaid. I'd say that is either a HUGE mistake in the numbers or someone trying to sensationalize their media story! I had a household of 14 on my caseload and their foodstamp allotment was just under $1600 per month! I find it impossible to believe theirs is over $500K! That's just BULL*HIT!!

Palin Says She Could Beat Obama in Race {Politics Daily}

Jul 1st 2009 2:32PM OH PLEASE! I can't stand Obama but Sarah Palin couldn't beat him in ANY election, even if she used a stick! Her performance in the VP debate with Biden was a disgrace! She lacks enough experience and knowledge to do anything on a national scale. I sure as hell hope the GOP does not support her OR McCain in 2012! We need someone with GUTS to get down in the dirt~McCain sure didn't have that! Palin knows little about what goes on outside of Alaska, so she needs to STAY there! We need a candidate in 2012 who knows what goes on globally, who understands foreign policy, etc. Palin sure as hell is NOT that person. I am a woman and a republican but would NEVER vote for Palin or McCain again! McCain lacked guts to get dirty with Obama and Palin lacks enough wordly experiences!

Pack your can opener! Airlines squeezing in more seats {WalletPop}

Jun 5th 2009 12:32AM Let's have the airlines charge the pinheads who have to have their laptops running at breakneck speed for the entire flight. I fit fine in the seat, do not lop over yet I constantly get elbowed in the side or arm by some AZZ who just HAS TO work on his/her laptop for the entire flight!!!!!!!!!!! If you can charge extra for being overweight, extra for being tall, let's charge for being a space hog or space invader because a laptop and paperwork invade my space???!!!!
