Evacuated Tube Transport could take you to China in two hours {Gadling}
Mar 30th 2012 10:07AM To Carpe: I've traveled to all seven continents. Train tracks are one thing. A sealed tube is an entirely different proposition, particularly when the cars inside are traveling at hundreds of miles per hour. The purpose of this tube travel is uninterrupted speed. If you are stopped at every border for identification and papers checks, it defeats the purpose. Here's a thought. Train tracks are made of steel and wood. That amount of materials are miniscule compared to that which will be required for this tube project. As for maintenance. A single ship or airplane can be maintained without problems. Thousands of miles of tubes which will have to be inspected regularly will prove to be very expensive.
Evacuated Tube Transport could take you to China in two hours {Gadling}
Mar 28th 2012 1:17PM From a logistics and materials standpoint alone, this proposal is impractical. From this standpoint of procuring rights of way, treaties, crossing international and country borders, customs inspections, etc. would be an endless nightmare. And let's not forget the constant maintenance that would be necessary. Could it be accomplished? Probably, but at an expense so great that it would take many, many decades before a profit would be shown.
Trouble Blooms: Condo Board Sues Resident Over Flowers {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 20th 2012 5:16PM "It's kind of like they sucked the joy out of owning my first home." If you don't want the joy sucked out of owing your own home...DON'T BUY ONE WHERE THERE'S A HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION. How bloody naive can you get?

Texas Family Wins Fight Against HOA to Keep Pet Kangaroo {AOL Real Estate}
Mar 6th 2012 7:59AM And yet another story about the poor and downtrodden waging war with yet another evil Homeowner's Association...All of which could have been avoided by either initially not buying a home where there was a HOA, or moving to a home with no HOA. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the girl got to keep her pet. However, a HOA has a purpose and this family knew the rules when they moved in. The HOA was only doing its job, trying to protect the interests of the other homeowners.
