Jun 1st 2011 3:47PM Parents must step up to the plate and be regularily involved in local government and community organizations to ensure that these types of public assets are maintained! It is the lack of parents involvment that cause these closings!
Take personal responsibility and rally others around you, and go out and find local business sponsors to help finance these pools before they are filled in and your kids loose the opportunity to enjoy our public facilities!
Corporations will sponsor these pools if you can just fill out the paperwork and demomstarte the need before it's too late! Put in some effort and do the legwork, and your community will reap the rewards! Or sit back and complain, while your pools and parks shut down around you! The CHOICE IS YOURS!
Jun 1st 2011 3:32PM If they'd cut the graft, greed and corruption within government offices, the fat would be miniscule in comparison!
May 30th 2011 6:26AM A few grops of eculyptus oil in your birdbath/ fountain etc. prevents them from laying eggs in that water.
I hope the "dryer sheets" works; I cant stand pesticides or skin creams!

I'm with my brother Dale... I will definitley have fun paddling the principal with a hockey stick on his birthday!
May 28th 2011 3:14PM (4th sibling weighing in)...
I hate birthdays, specifically because of this humiliating "tradition" you MONKEYS enjoy to inflicting on each other year after year.
May 28th 2011 3:11PM Lets play fair and help balance out the Karma... When is the Principles Birthday?
May 28th 2011 3:05PM "Bonding" via a paddling?
May 28th 2011 2:52PM If you wouldn't do it to an adult on thier birthday, why is it acceptabile to do to a child?
May 28th 2011 1:10PM Personally, I was traumatized by "Bday spankings" as a child for very good reason; they were terrorizing and injurious! For me, school was (supposed to be) a "safe place" where I could get away from abusive parents, hostile siblings, violent kids acting out, and soldiers hate speech and bloody vietnam tales that totally dominated THEIR lives!
When these "BDAY spankings" started up in school I was mortified! Our neighborhood (military) kids were BRUTAL to one another FOR FUN... it was violent and abusive in every sense of the word! Most kids modeled thier parents like MONKEYS; creating abusive situations, neighborhood wars, and violence for fun, as if it was "normal". These kids, in thier pre-teens were already juvenile delinquents, gangs of thieves, and young criminals that vandalized the town for decades after; and many are still doing the rounds in prison! They made big plans to punch, pinch, and hit you especiallly hard on your birthday, usually repeatedly throughout the day!
It is SICK to foster "acceptance" of hitting someone CEREMONIOUSLY, especiallly in school!
May 28th 2011 12:04PM Ban this practice for good, and find a more approcriate way to "celebrate" and honor a childs birth day!
If the Pricnicple wants to join in he should
play "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" and let the kids pin the tail on him on center stage; then we'll see how "fun" it is to be smacked on the ass by a bunch of "well-meaning" people having fun at your expense!
Under the guise of "Bday fun," spankings encourage peers to dominate and bully a person whos been forced onto center stage. And many of these spankings would be characterized as assaults if they were not disguised as "fun". It may be acceptable among intimate groups of friends, but public humiliation in a classroom is quite another matter; it is not celebratory, especially when you're the recipient!
