Tom Cruise Has Worst Week Ever {Popeater}
Oct 23rd 2009 9:52PM P, I'm soooo sorry for your troubles, but honey, this is an entertainment site with accompanying blog. So for the author to say 'worst week ever' is perfectly in keeping with the theme. I'm assuming you came to the site for some relief from your own troubles. Keep it all in perspective. I sincerely hope that a year from now, you'll be able to say "What a rotten day I had" and have the worst thing to have happened to you be a broken heel on your shoe. Good luck with your daughter's cancer, and God bless. And will somebody please fix our daggone health insurance policy? And explain to me again why we're the only non-third world country where a family can go bankrupt from medical bills???

'Risky Business' Star Calls Tom Cruise 'Biggest Bore on the Face of the Earth' {Popeater}
Oct 21st 2009 10:10PM At 20, people are still sifting through possibilities, trying on personalities for fit, and very definitely still molding their beliefs. I'm no fan of Tom Cruise other than as an actor, but at least he wasn't beating up his girlfriends at 20. Also, Bronson Pinchot is a terrificly funny actor, but he'd be the first to tell you he's no leading man therefore he's not trying to compare himself to Cruise or Washington.
Real People Real Kitchens: Boca Raton {Shelterpop}
Oct 18th 2009 5:58PM It's GORGEOUS!! Love those citrus colors and the retro white furniture.... FOR FLORIDA! or California. Can't say I'd like it in Oklahoma. But I didn't see much I didn't like. Fabulous cabinets. Come on, people. You can appreciate it and not necessarily want it for yourself! I do agree with the comment about the sharp corners, though, on those countertops. Ow! Wouldn't have taken away from the look to gently round those things and sure would prevent a bunch of bruises. Anyway, love the kitchen, including the silver on display. There's nothing cold about this kitchen -- warm and inviting!
Black Barbie, But Why The Long Hair? {ParentDish}
Oct 11th 2009 4:47PM Some of y'all have it backwards. As long as black women continue to use relaxers to achieve straight hair more often than they have natural hair, Mattel, etc. will have [some] of their black dolls with straight hair. These are GORGEOUS DOLLS! Get off the bandwagon, and let little girls have fun without their being made to feel like all dolls are supposed to be ugly just to elevate their self-esteem. Get real. Dolls have ALWAYS been beautiful. LONG before Barbie was made beautiful, dolls were beautiful. Geesh.
Is Caterack the Cat 30 Years Old? {Pawnation}
Oct 2nd 2009 4:53PM My vet told me years ago that the average OUTDOOR (unneutered?)male cat lived to be 2 years old because of disease, fighting, predators, cars... However, the oldest cats I've personally known were outdoor cats living to be twenty. And you don't see overweight outdoor cats. BUT I got tired of having my cats die of preventable causes, so I keep mine indoors now. They do pine for the great outdoors. My purebred Persian lived to be 17, and I've had two domestic long haired cats live to be 18, one of them is still going though not so strong, bless his heart. I love my dog, but I will ALWAYS have cats, God bless them. Such comfort.
Woman Terminates Adoption Because She Can't Bond With The Child {ParentDish}
Oct 1st 2009 5:16PM Tough call! We have friends who adopted a boy from another country 24 years ago. They were SOOOO ready to be parents. Well, this boy never did bond with his mother, did somewhat with his father, and he's been a nightmare every since. I wonder, if they would have had an inkling what the next 24 years would have been like (the last ten of which they've gone to bed wondering if they'd wake up alive in the morning), ....... Don't be too quick to judge this woman. Why should all of their lives be ruined, 'cuz believe you me, the other CHILDREN in that house were suffering right along with the parents.
Toppling tomato sauce jars lead to New York lawsuit {WalletPop}
Sep 17th 2009 1:40PM Wow, you guys are hard. First place, why the heck would the STORE make a display using GLASS jars?? Talk about stupid and irresponsible. And if the thing collapsed on the woman, why are you so suspect about her injuries? You have a display of glass jars fall on YOUR head, and you're gonna be hurting. Plus, the hospital records (x-rays, etc.) are going to either vet her story or kill it. And no, I've never sued anybody or filed any kind of claim.
