Jul 8th 2011 2:12PM AOL SCREENERS - WHERE ARE YOU! CLOSE DOWN THIS WHOLE BLOGFEST - it's is 90% made up of offensive language, untruths, & insults. This is NOT the democracy in action expected by the Declaration of Independence the anniversary of which we celebrated this week with flag waving & parades. While bloggers were exhibiting their pathetic lack of character here, others were celebrating the last shuttle (Atlantis) launch from Cape Kennedy, an incredidible feat worthy of unanimous national pride. AOL: Instead of throwing bait to the mentally deficient who feed their internal anger by spueing their hate on strangers, how about capitalizing on what few heroes we have, like our astronauts, or DIANA NYAD who will be making her 103 mile swim from Cuba to Key West any day at age 60 after failing the same attempt half her lifetime ago. People all over the world read this...what a horrible misrepresentation of the American people displayed here.
Jan 24th 2011 7:00PM I'm forwarding this to my principal where I teach school (we were both lifeguards) and recommend this video be shown in the school bus driver training at the begining of the year as a spoof. Bet it will get a few pot-smokon' drivers to quit before they start. lol!
Would make a real suspenseful segment in a Hollywood earthquake movie - driver trying to save the children from a landslide ( with dummies on the bus, an out-of-camera range towline, a helicopter with a hook above). Wow - 'Is there a Dr in the house?'
Jan 24th 2011 6:26PM I suspect this driver had crossed this damn before when dry & knew it was completely level & smooth, next placed the weight inside over the axels, then let just enough air out of the tires to keep the tail pipe above water and put as much tread on the "ground" as possible, & lastly drove very slowly not to create a wake, vacuum, or get water in the tailpipe. People who live in flood areas know this stuff & often have to cross rushing rivers that were trickling creeks - I kept my inflatable dinghy in the bed of my Tundra with a long line tied to my door handle, sometimes adding air to lift the tailpipe higher, & sometimes deflating for more tread. But that 12' drop into the river - not me!!!
Jan 9th 2011 10:54PM There are people whose are very healthy, eat & exercise in healthy ways that most people would not discipline themselves to do - low calorie, low- carb, 5 veg/5 fruits, no processed foods, no saturated or trans fats, turkey, salmon, yogurt, nuts & seeds, etc.,. These people often have bodies that work very efficiently & can get sufficient recuperation time in 4 hours of deep sleep. If also motivated by a need for longer daylight hours to accomplish what they feel they must, & if they sublimate harmful stress into physical activity, their bodies can adjust to a pattern of 4 hours of sleep.
Nov 18th 2010 12:35PM These conjectures are an exercise in futility. The police already know:
1.What time the car clock stopped (moment of impact).
2.What time the shots were heard.
3.What the approx speed of the car was at impact & if brakes were applied.
4.If the shots went through the windshield & from what angle & therefore the location of the shooter.
5.If the shots went through her open driver's window from a moving vehicle or (gunpowder)close range stationary person.
6.If there were any other car tracks on the pavement or on the shoulder indicating braking or acceleration at a high speed.
7.What make & caliber gun was used based on the bullet fragments.
8.Where the gun was purchased,if purchased.
9.Who the owner of the gun is, if registered, or if not reg.,if this weapon was used in another crime.
10.many more possibles based on the answer to any of these.
ONE THING FOR SURE, THIS WAS NOT PLANNED - TOO MANY POSSIBLE CLUES THAT WOULD HOLD UP IN COURT, & TOO MUCH STUPIDITY. Dumb would-be car jackers target ladies alone in nice cars at night, bumping her from behind to get her to stop, then hold her up for her purse & jewelry & take the car. This got out of hand, & they will be caught! RIP Ms Chasin. So sad to lose another productive citizen who still had so much positivity to add to this wounded society.
Nov 5th 2010 8:42AM Staying on EST year round makes much more sense now than when DST was originally instituted. We have 10's of millions of KIDS WALKING 2 MILES TO SCHOOL BUS STOPS IN THE DARK in every state. Check the stats in your state for the fatalities - shocking!
Oct 31st 2010 5:58PM More than 65 children under 2 suffocate each year because a parent blocks their breathing while moving around during sleep, ...in addition to the children suffocated on pillow top mattresses & water beds.
Oct 31st 2010 5:44PM The problem starts when you bring a baby into your bed for any reason - to breast feed, to comfort, whatever. Instead, bring a baby to a sofa, a guest room bed, youth bed in the same room with the crib,... but not in the parents' bed, whether Dad is home or not. As the child transitions from their crib with the side down, into a twin bed with a temporary 1/2 rail in the same room, make sure all the blankets, toys, etc from the crib are moved to the new bed. Make sure the night light that you always had on since infancy stays on. Always let the child pick out a favorite book or toy to have on their bed "in case they wake up". This is called teaching the child "self-soothing". If an occasion arises where the child needs the parent, sick or frightened, THE PARENT LIES DOWN WITH THE CHILD IN THE CHILD's BED OR ROOM UNTIL THE CHILD IS ASLEEP. The only time children are allowed in Mom & Dad's bed is to play briefly on top of the covers with the parents who are already awake - as on a weekend or vacation morning...a special privilege. This technique teaches multiple emotionally healthy lessons.
Oct 8th 2010 2:01PM I lived in the mid-Hudson R. Valley NY during the years of many many sightings in the 1980's. It became almost routine to read in the morning newspapers of another sighting resulting in 100's of phone calls to police, & documented in many photographs taken by professionals & amaturers. I myself saw UFO's 3 times, the most compelling being when an F16 type military jet sent out of the hi security Stewart Air Force base attempted to intercept. It was a very clear night sky & I was in a very quiet place, mid foot bridge in a deserted area with an unobstructed view. Unfortunately it was before cell phones & convenient cameras. For those of us who witnessed that encounter & mentally recorded it in detail, there will never be a question that these UFO's are NOT a product of our government.
Oct 8th 2010 1:41PM View the video of the 2005 Peter Jennings ABC Special, "Seeing Is Believing". It is done in 5 parts, the most compelling part being the one where dozens of testimonies are given by commercial & military pilots who have had up close & personal encounters. This is the most objective piece done to date on this topic, with documentation throughout in the thorough professional way that characterized all of Jennings Specials.
