My Bloody Romania: The Royal (Mud) Treatment {Gadling}

Sep 25th 2007 8:57PM At the end of this summer I traveled to Pennsylvania and West Virginia and the landscape reminded me of Southern Bucovina.
I don't know your plans for the next days but if you'll go to Durau and you'll be in the mood for hiking you can climb on Ceahlau.They have there a monastery near the top of the mountain, its not like Meteora in Greece but the view its interesting(I would recommend the trail that passes near Duruitoarea waterfall).

*I m still waiting for that password.. every time when I comment here I have to confirm my comments, but I guess that this doesn't depend on you, it's Gadling problem.*

My Bloody Romania: The real Dracula's Castle {Gadling}

Sep 16th 2007 12:37AM good job!
The Carpatian Castle written by Jules Verne is inspired by some stories about that region.
I ve tried once to go there with some friends but a wild thunderstorm started after we entered in the forest.The road was very narrow and we met a monk who told us that is better to turn back and come again some other time.
I remember that years ago a group of priests tried to hallow the citadel.

Here is a short movie about all the sites of your quiz:

My Bloody Romania: Sibiu, slippery when wet {Gadling}

Sep 12th 2007 12:27AM tip: If you have time you should go in Rasinari,is on the same road as the Museum of Traditional Folk Civilization.
There you should visit Pensiunea Cioran(http://www.ruraltourism.ro/marg/penmarg/rasina/cioran/html/cioranro.html)where you can spend a night and have a great breakfast,or maybe have dinner there(call them,they have great food and I hope that "doamna Maria" is still there).
The Little Vampire can tell you more about Emil Cioran(the people that manage Pensiunea Cioran are his relatives, so it will be a cultural,philosophical and culinar trip,minutes away from Sibiu)

My Bloody Romania: Ia?i - some things don't change {Gadling}

Sep 11th 2007 11:50PM so in Iasi you stayed in Canta..it s interesting to see places that I know,like Iasi, in your blog. When you come back maybe we ll talk about your romanian experience and my american experience(I lived in Iasi and now I m living in Michigan)

My Bloody Romania: In which the author finally reaches Iasi after 49 hours of continuous travel and refuses to get out of bed for two days, but blogs anyway {Gadling}

Sep 11th 2007 11:22PM Delta Airlines didnt start the direct NY-Bucharest flights this summer?and about the luggage,how did you manage to convince them to take all of it in the flight from Bucharest to Iasi?because I know that usually they start to make faces(maybe something changed since 2006 when I ve met a couple coming from US in the Bucharest-Iasi train because they had "too much luggage to flight" - meaning two medium suitcases and a small one.
