Aug 20th 2009 11:00PM You can't carry an automatic rifle in AZ. The open carry applies to a handgun in a holster on your belt. The minute you cover it with any thing it becomes a concealed weapon. It is still the "Wild West" in a lot of ways and there are many open areas where personal safety is an issue. Besides, if you see someone "open" carrying odds are that they have had some training and aren't using them for illegal activities. If you're really worried, you always have the right to leave. It's like anything else, it's the illegal weapons and the people who use them that tend to be the problem.
Feb 3rd 2009 12:45PM How about safes that lock with your magnetic strip card of your choice as used on Carnival Cruise Lines?
Also, I would suggest carrying your passport on your person at all times then you know where it is and who's had access to it.
Suitcase, no matter, what size can still walk out a door and then the thief has all the time in the world to get it open.
