New TSA pat down runs up inner thigh, new thrill for travelers {Gadling}
Nov 24th 2010 3:54PM JH works for the TSA. Read his comment... "WE do not force you to get search, you obligate..." So, there's a TSA shill. LC seems like one also.
Sorry to both of you idiotic losers, but there is NO LAW that allows molestation on these grounds. How much do you both get paid to shill for the TSA?

Wow, you MUST be blind if you dont see the similarities!!!! It's got a windshield, windows and doors too!!!! And I am pretty sure I spotted mirrors and headlights. ;-)
Cyanogen squeezes Android 2.2 Froyo into G1, MyTouch 3G {Engadget}
Jul 11th 2010 5:30PM @meatball Hmmmm... lets see... the G1 has the BEST keyboard of any Android device I have seen (and I've checked out quite a few. While the MT3GS has a decent keyboard, I'd miss the dedicated number key row), is pretty solidly built, has a ton of accessories available, runs pretty darn well even with it's meager CPU and memory.
And... for all of us who got it early (or even a year ago or more), we now have phones that are MORE capable and have MORE features than when we originally bought it. And that's not even counting by rooting it -that's just via the upgrades from Android 1.0 to 1.1 to 1.5 to 1.6.
You dont have to like it, or understand why we do... but that still doesnt mean theres anything wrong with us liking it and sticking with it.
Cyanogen squeezes Android 2.2 Froyo into G1, MyTouch 3G {Engadget}
Jul 11th 2010 5:24PM @UptownDonkey Nah - not nearly that difficult or as many pages to search through as that. Google has a one page set of instructions on how to unbrick and unroon a non-fatally bricked G1. It's one simple page of instructions with links to everything needed, and originally written by CTDroidBeast. To help others, I've even reposted it on the T-Mobile G1 forums, and included links to the original doc.
Apple responds on iTunes fraud, vaguely confirms said fraud (update) {Engadget}
Jul 6th 2010 6:50PM I suspect you made a mistake in your article:
You wrote: "Additionally, while they don't explicitly say fraud occurred..."
Then quote their statement which says this:
"The developer Thuat Nguyen and his apps were removed from the App Store for violating the developer Program License Agreement, including FRAUDULENT PURCHASE PATTERNS." (caps on applicable section)
That to me seems an indication of fraud...
Best,
Robert
Commodore PET caught running Windows Phone 7 Series? {Engadget}
Feb 16th 2010 4:11PM I've extensively used these. These machines do not have enough RAM or CPU power or even a color screen (they ALL were monochrome).
Thus, the answer is the following:
(1) The image is doctored
(2) The insides of the machine are NOT a Commodore PET.
The Personal Electronic Transactor *originally* came with a MAXIMUM of 8KB of RAM and were only upgradable to (or came with in the newer models) 32 KB (64 in the CBM?), and used a monochrome green phosphor screen.
BenQ's Joybook Lite U103 packs an SSD for when you're feeling frisky, HDD for when you're not {Engadget}
Jan 4th 2010 9:44PM Every indication (aesthetically) is that it's a relabelled Toshiba (or Toshiba's are relabelled BenQ's?). Having been a computer tech for 23 years, and a laptop tech since the early days, Ive learned to stay away from any recent (8 years or newer) Toshiba. At any price. Heck, I got some free ones in not too long ago and parted them out.
I still remember the A135 and A106 fiascos, (gee, does the casing on that BenQ look familiar?) and the nightmare with the Qosmio G15 (bad motherboard design requiring mobo replacement that took 1 month for... guess what? A newer board design that was STILL bad!) And those weren't isolated issues... I was the laptop tech for a big CompUSA and repaired or facilitated (to the manufacturers) about 200 machines a month.
Guess which brand came in for repair the most? Now guess which brand came in more then EVERY other brand COMBINED?
Toshiba's leadership in sales (at least at that time) did not account for the large discrepency in failed machines. So... BenQ that looks like (and may be) a Toshiba... no thanks, unless it's free, shipping and all.
Color changing Luxeed U5 LED keyboard is a rave at your fingertips {Engadget}
Apr 30th 2009 10:47PM For that much money, for what looks like yet another cheapo keyboard - with nothing special other than color changing LEDs, I'd just buy a few more used IBM Model M's that will never need replacing... but that's just me.
NVIDIA's Quadro FX 5800 with 4GB graphics memory is 'the most powerful graphics card in history' {Engadget}
Nov 11th 2008 3:07AM Laughing_Man, Lorre is correct - as is everyone else who pointed out that you are wrong. The way it works in most 32bit OS's is that every piece of hardware gets mapped to a memory address - the Intel and AMD CPUs, in 32bit mode can access 4GB. Take that 4GB and remap a device's address space in the first available region. When complete, that 4GB is now less. You can look it up online. Thus, using this card in a computer running a 32bit OS would leave you with negative available memory. 4GB max system RAM/address space MINUS the PCI and other busses MINUS all other devices LEAVES something already less than 4GB - MINUS 4GB+ for this card leaves you a negative number.
Now... theoretically, on certain versions of Windows, and on supported hardware, you can enable PAE mode for the kernel, which will then do 36bit addressing and help alleviate that issue. Or you can run a 64bit OS.
Or, one final possibility... nVidia can write drivers that swap memory the old fashioned way (ie: no flat memory space accessing), though there may be a big speed penalty... because lets say they use 512MB blocks... it would take 8 swaps to handle the card's full 4GB - and since the data could not be acted upon in one chunk, it would mean those 8 swaps may have to occur numerous times to complete a transaction.
Intel's UrbanMax concept device demonstrated on video {Engadget}
Aug 20th 2008 11:31PM "Intel's uniquely designed UrbanMax concept"
Not much unique about it. IBM did something very similar a LONG while back in the Thinkpad line.
