Apr 13th 2008 11:49PM I knew someone would overreact to my comment in #72 and say something to the effect of leave the USA if you don't love it. Well, that's the language of the day, but New York City utilizes DUI checkpoints often on weekend nights in areas where there are many nightclubs for instance.

Apr 13th 2008 11:31PM All of this smelling a driver's breath, followed by a field sobriety test is just ridiculous. The most efficient method to catch drunk drivers is by every driver rolling down the window at DUI checpoints and blowing into a breathalyzer. Many European countries use this system, and no one whines about their civil liberties being trampled upon. So spare me those comments in advance.

Feb 16th 2008 9:17PM Two sides to this. The kids didn't need to be so flippant initially, but the officer did over react, and behaved like a drill instuctor. His behavior was immature, and if he would have toned down the antics, I would have been on his side. Officer Rivieri; please, it sounded like another Italian American overweight policeman with a small penis complex.
