*Breaking* St. Louis airport damaged and closed by tornado {Gadling}
Apr 23rd 2011 3:35PM To clarify, Southwest is the primary carrier at Lambert. I believe Delta is second and American is definitely third. Southwest operates out of terminal 2 (East Terminal) and sustained minimal damage. They hope to be operating possibly a few flights tonight. Most of the other airlines operate out of the main terminal, where the damage was sustained. Primary problem right now is clean up and restoring electricity.
Airport press conference scheduled for 3:30 pm CST. Check your airline before you go.
Ten ways to prevent your frequent flier miles from disappearing {Gadling}
Nov 14th 2010 4:14PM What airline? Best bet is going to that airline's e-shopping mall (For example, American Airlines mall is Aadvantage e-shopping) and buy something like a couple of songs on I-tunes, or ink for your printer from Office Depot, or a CD from Best Buy.
But beware, it can take UP TO 3 MONTHS for the miles to post, so do it relatively soon! You don't have to spend a lot, just generate a small transaction. But don't wait. February is already in the 3 month time frame.
Worst case scenario, buy some miles from the airline through their website, but do it AT LEAST ONE WEEK before the miles are due to expire. Again, it can take several days to post to the account.
I learned all this the hard way last year!
Walt Disney World to build new value resort {Gadling}
May 13th 2010 1:30PM The resort will most likely be priced more than the regular "value" standard room since it sleeps more people. Disney already does a similar family suite at All Star Music, another value resort. In that case, the "family suite" is usually more than the price than renting 2 rooms. I'd rather have the 2 standard rooms (and therefore 2 baths/showers) for the price. Just saying, when it becomes available, just check all your options. If you have really small kids, then of course you may want the 1 larger room, but if your kids are bigger/teens you may want the 2 rooms and put an adult in each room.
I have stayed at Pop Century also and it is family friendly with big pools and a good food court, so I would expect the same with this new property. Just be aware it is a bus ride to ALL the parks.
Black Friday begins at midnight, Nov. 26 at Toys R Us {WalletPop}
Nov 20th 2009 4:52PM Marsha's comment is interesting-could she please explain more why those stores aren't in the Christmas spirit? More details would be helpful here.
Makeover needed: McDonald's {BloggingStocks}
Oct 23rd 2008 1:50PM We quit eating hamburgers, etc. at McD's when they switched to the system where everything is cooked and then put in a bin.
It is not hardly possible to get a "hot" sandwich there anymore.
I worked there as a teen and burgers & sandwiches were better when they were pulled right from the grill, wrapped and served. I would rather wait 5 min for a hot burger than eat the current burger which was cooked who knows how long ago.
And when I worked there, you didn't pull the hot food from the bin until all the food was ready, in the meantime you made the cold drinks first so the food wouldn't be sitting there getting cold. This practice seems to have fallen by the wayside. Notice next time you go when your fries are sitting there getting cold while someone then gets your soda.
Apple shares down 3% on iPhone cutbacks rumors {BloggingStocks}
Sep 5th 2007 2:19PM Apparently the skeptics forgot that June 30 marks the end of a calendar quarter, and that July sales get recorded in July, the 3rd quarter. Accounting 101 folks. Unfortunately, the sales launch weekend spanned 2 reporting quarters. Let's relax until we see what this quarter's results look like. And don't worry about the Cingular stats, due to their technical issues not everyone was able to activate their phone on the first day, thus also falling into the next reporting quarter.
I agree with the other posts, it looks more like rumors to manipulate the stock price.
