Bad Date Blogger Tells Us the 6 Quickest Ways to Ruin a Date {Asylum}

Jun 18th 2010 7:41AM I wonder if the lady was from a culture where they eat with their fingers? But the nose picking? I doubt that there is any culture which allows it unless they are from a family not exposed to many others and that's the norm for them. Perhaps she hadn't been outside her own group much. My wife always ate with knife, fork and spoon until one day at our temporary rental in the Philippines some friends came over and we didn't have much furniture or utensils and everyone sat down in a circle on the living room floor with newspaper spread on the floor and began eating with their fingers, including my wife. I had found at least a fork or a spoon or chop sticks to go around and placed them around, but I was the only one using utensils.

Little Boy Weeps When Told He's Not a Single Lady, But Dad Saves the Day {ParentDish}

Mar 31st 2010 8:09PM The expression on the face of the girl/sister in the middle could be "I can't believe you want to be a single lady." The father did right in soothing the feelings of the child.

Mar 24th 2010 9:33PM smoking marijuana for personal use? So the drug dealers who kill and threaten others have no victims. The drug you use doesn't provide money to a terrorist? The drug you use doesn't kill a judge in Mexico? The drug you use doesn't keep you from being an asset to society. The drug you use doesn't cause you to be a drain on society? No victims?

Tax return questions answered by WalletPop experts {WalletPop}

Mar 21st 2010 2:12AM Late last year my wife made over a $42,000 investment in her bosses firm (for 10% ownership) The bank that handled the transaction said that they were required by law to notify the IRS. There is no paper trail showing in our joint bank statements for 2009. Should we just claim it on our joint return as an investment? The only paperwork we have is the form from the bank which proves she invested the money and that she is now part owner. The money was actually given to my wife from her boss so that she could be listed as an invester with a promise on her part to remain with the company for the long haul.

Milk Money -- Savings Experiment {WalletPop}

Mar 18th 2010 7:56PM Milk in the commissary here in Korea runs an average of the prices listed in the comments, a little cheaper than the article. They don't sell it by the gallon, but recently they began stocking three quart plastic jugs. California Sunshine lasts longer than the other brands sold at our store and is usually cheaper than the store brand. Perhaps they have a higher degree of pasturization and is irradiated. Also, it just tastes fresher. I usually buy 1%, but if it's not available I choose skim milk. At the commissary the prices generally fall as the fat content falls. I believe that's how it should be. It encourages me to sacrifice flavor for savings and of course better health. Milk bought off base sours or curdles in just a few days and that's refrigerated.

The Gadling guide to finding power outlets at the airport {Gadling}

Mar 14th 2010 4:57AM Novels are great, but when you want to let your wife know where from half way around the world and ask about her health and that of your family, then WiFi and outlets are much appreciated, especially since there is no standard worldwide cell phone format. But it would be great if I could just carry my CP and text my wife from anywhere in the world and received texts without having to replace a sim card, changing numbers or purchasing another cell phone.

The Real Reason Disney Changed 'Rapunzel' to 'Tangled' {Cinematical}

Mar 10th 2010 5:50AM Well before pre-teen years I liked to hear the story of Rapunzel. Later I read it a couple of times, too. I thought of a young man climbing hair that would be hard to hold onto and later I thought, what if his weight caused too much pain and she yelled "Let Go!" or slide back down (only to be met by castle guards) or simply took a pair of scissors and cut him loose. It was both frightening and intriguing to me. I was at least eight or nine before any thought of romance entered my mind. Now "Tangled," today that makes me think of becoming tangled in a mass of hair like some kind of nit comb and even today I think of the pain she must feel at his weight tugging at the roots of her hair. I have no problems with the word tangled..
