Jul 7th 2012 10:14PM I have nothing against anyone wanting to study together , whether it's the bible or anthropology. It comes down to a matter of this is a home , not a church or school hall. The neighbors have a right to complain. His use of the excuse " if it were a weekly poker game or Monday night sports is ridiculous. His study groups grew substantially From 15 a week , that is a heck of a lot more than would show up for either a friendly home poker game or Monday night football.
They need to use their church hall instead of his home. Good luck to all , it's never a good thing when people who have to live side by side feud.

Jun 27th 2012 8:22AM Yes it is their money to spend how they like , but , I couldn't help but wonder how much more they could have done with 4 million dollars , plus the amount of money it cost to pay those demolition workers and the money it will cost to put in their garden. They have a 19 million dollar home already , with "health resort style" spa included , it's not like they'd miss 4 million if it were donated to helping those less fortunate or even donated to a school with stipulation it be used for computer equipment/classes or the arts , etc.
I also hope , but I doubt it since it would have been mentioned , that they allowed an organization like habitat for humanity to come in and salvage windows/doors and anything else that can be reused.
Those 1%'ers complain they pay too much in taxes , clearly they don't if they have 4 million to piss away on a view.

Jun 11th 2012 8:37PM Seriously? It's not spray paint as one person commented. It's Chalk , it's washable! And to the one who "My kids , dog and I are allergic to the dye in sidewalk chalk"..BS. You sound like a perfect..pita.
I'm so glad I grew up when I did , when kids were allowed to play and laugh and generally Enjoy being outside. I also let my kids enjoy being kids With sidewalk chalk. They knew enough to stay off the neighbors lawns and to respect their property , but they also knew they could have fun and laugh on ours.
How sad so many dislike the laughter of little children. Too bad so many have forgotten how it is to be a child.
Several of these comments come from people who sound like they would be so much happier living on a 100 acres somewhere , with no contact with the outside world. Get over yourselves , you live in a Neighborhood , not an Isolation bubble.

If your other half were to be in an accident or get suddenly ill and hospitalized , you can help make decisions they might not be able to. That's just one way a piece of paper can help. My ex MIL lived with her boyfriend for 6 years , he had a stroke and was put in the hospital , the doctors for brain cancer at the same time and gave him weeks if not days to live. His family couldn't stand my ex MIL (with good reason) and since the home was in his name only , they gave her 1 week to leave. This was after denying her the chance to visit him in the hospital and say goodbye. I thought that part particularly cruel. His decisions were in his closest kins hands , all because they had no piece of paper.

Mar 3rd 2012 4:49AM He might have felt the only thing left he could do was to take her away from the brother and put her where she could be cared for. Maybe when the brother moved in , they all sighed with relief , because she wasn't alone any longer and they didn't have to care for her themselves. Now they realize maybe it wasn't for the best because of her live in son's drinking habits. It's a damned shame when our parents become elderly that they no longer have a place in our busy lives. I lost my mom 7 years ago , my dad 6 months ago , and I would do anything to have both of them back. Fighting with a sibling is a piss poor excuse not to go see your mother.
