I DON'T GET A LUNCH, or a pee break in a 12 hour shift, unless I DECIDE TO LET PATIENT CARE WAIT.
I do this almost every day. The ER can't survive without nurses. If we stop, nothing gets done. You think a doctor's going to hand out pills or discharge a patient? Draw blood for labs? Put an IV in? Listen to the family bi*** about the poor care they're getting for FREE (since no one ever pays the bill)?
I for one get my lunch, they take it out of my check, I'm going to take it. But many of my younger (stupider) colleagues don't.... because they still give a sh** about patients.

Where did the author come up with that??? I work in the ER in Phoenix AZ, and I can tell you from experience -- illegals don't use ANYTHING ELSE BUT THE ER. They get medicaid, which you and I pay for; medicaid says if you go to the primary doctor you pay, but if you go to the ER it's FREE!!!
They won't even buy tylenol for a fever! They come to the ER so YOU can pay!
All illegals need to be rounded up, before it gets out of hand. Or at least, deport them!
I have NO LOVE for illegals, and if it wasn't against the law not to, wouldn't lift a finger to save one's life!!
