Lexus Safety Experience: Enthusiast knowledge made common {Autoblog}

Oct 9th 2010 10:48AM You're right, it would be great if the salespeople were knowledgeable about the cars they sold. I've walked into dealerships knowing more about the cars I was buying than the salesperson. Hearing 'Let me look into that for you' gets tiring after the second, or third, time.

Galley Gossip: A letter from a flight attendant to Jerry Seinfeld concerning Lady Gaga, bad behavior & free upgrades {Gadling}

Jun 25th 2010 7:39PM Heather,

I've learned the secret to getting decent, to good service at the airport, at the gates, and on the plane!! I'd like to share it with everyone. It doesn't take any extra effort, it may not net you an upgrade, but it will make for a much better flight experience. Here it is: BE NICE TO ANY AND EVERYONE YOU ENCOUNTER. From the guy who checks your bags, the agent at the counter, the TSA screener, the gate agent, and the flight attendant - GUESS WHAT? - they will respond in the manner you treat them! I have done this ever since I started flying at a very young age, and it's gotten me good service 99% of the time. I fly maybe 15,000 - 20,000 miles a year, not a lot by any stretch, but enough to show me that the above mentioned method works. If everyone would try what I suggest, you might find yourself pleasantly surprised!

Mar 17th 2010 5:11PM I'll agree with everything you just said Andre Neves...except for your choosing to ride a Trek.

Actually, as a rider of an '09 Stumpjumper Hardtail Carbon, I just had to give you a little grief...all in fun, from one rider to another! Keep riding!

VIDEO: German armor company blows the crap out of a Rolls-Royce {Autoblog}

Oct 20th 2009 8:13PM As sad as it is to see any expensive car destroyed, if I (or whoever) were to buy a car like this, and have it armoured, I'd like to know that it would survive whatever threats were thrown its way. It is a shame the car was destroyed.

Porsche Unveils new 911 GT3 Cup for the Gentleman Racer {Luxist}

Aug 29th 2009 10:06AM Ken,

In case you missed it, and it appears that you did, the GT3 Cup car is a RACE CAR. It is meant for one passenger (driver). It is meant to go fast. It is meant to handle well (which it does exceptionally on both points. 16 miles per gallon for a race car is actually pretty decent, though when you're on the track racing, gas mileage isn't usually of any concern.

Galley Gossip: Nonrevs, deadheads & commuters in (and out) of uniform {Gadling}

Aug 6th 2009 4:35PM JD - just like you may have a bad day at work when you're washing lettuce, wiping tables, or refilling napkin dispensers, Flight Attendants will also occasionally have a bad day, and like you, it may show through every once in a while. We're human, it happens to all of us. The majority of Flight Attendants are quite helpful, and friendly, and do the best they can with what little they're given. Give them a break, sit back, be quiet, and keep that special needs tag on your shirt visible so they know you need assistance.

Galley Gossip: Nonrevs, deadheads & commuters in (and out) of uniform {Gadling}

Aug 4th 2009 6:16PM It never ceases to amaze me that passengers will, without fail, blame a flight attendant for the performance of a flight. Flight attendants have as much control over flight delays, cancellations, and weather, as passengers do. The fact that FA's can serve your drink, sell food, try to make passengers comfortable, render some degree of medical assistance, as well as get your a## off of the plane in case of an emergency is pretty remarkable, passengers still expect more. I'd like to see any passenger do the same job, in fact, I doubt they even could do half as much as their job.

I'm not an FA, but I do appreciate what they do, which is more often than not, the reason I'm the passenger that is barely noticed.
