Tenants of Manhattan Complex Irate Over Mid-Lease Rent Hikes {AOL Real Estate}

May 20th 2013 10:56AM Buying your own is all well and good. A home in N.J. or Conn. could carry a mortgage number that would allow a commute for (combined) less than the rent in N.Y. But the commute wears on you. You are at the mercy of the train and bus schedules. Also, if IRS decides they want more of YOUR earnings, your house can be gone in a gavel bang. Then you are back where you started.

Michelle Hansen Tags Home With Message to Chase Bank: You're 'Stealing' My House {AOL Real Estate}

Feb 10th 2013 12:11PM You expected to be ABLE to pay it back. You also expected to be able to resume payment after falling on hard times. BUT THAT WAS NOT PERMITTED! OH, NO. We're the BANK. You don't COUNT. The fourth Teller from the right needs to make his boat payments, and YOU are holding them up! You missed a payment! You are a CROOK! You are the lowest form of life. We must destroy you. If you built some equity in that house, WE TAKE IT FOR OUR INCONVIENIENCE. WE ARE THE BANK!!!! Bow to MECCA 5 TIMES A DAY! WE ARE THE BANK!!! (Or IRS - They are about equal to me.)

Michelle Hansen Tags Home With Message to Chase Bank: You're 'Stealing' My House {AOL Real Estate}

Feb 10th 2013 11:56AM Let's see... She bought the house (home to her, but HOUSE to the bank.) for the price shown in the paper... It was an inflated price, but in keeping with other real estate prices at the time. Then the 'bubble' burst. The 'crash' hit, and people lost jobs, many STILL don't have them, but that's another topic. And real estate prices took a huge hit.

This lady took a double hit. Pay cut, and a house payment more than she could handle. She was honest about it, informed the bank, then asked for help. The BANK dragged its corporate feet until it was too late, then gobbled up the property. Then the bank does TV ads about how much they care. Sure they do. About THEIR 'bottom line'. After all, the BANK 'IS TOO BIG TO FAIL!!!"

Princess Cottage, Hurricane Sandy Symbol, Torn Down in Union Beach, N.J. {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 24th 2012 10:31AM Look at the age of that house. I suspect it was built long before the nit pickers got started with and in the insurance companies. - This one is in a 'known' huricane damage area. This one in a 'known' earthquake area. This in a in a 'known' tornado place. An THIS one, wow... People come here, and so it is in danger of vandles. Their idea is to reduce their risk to ZERO, while maximising the 'Bottom Line'.

Rod Kush Mansion Destroyed as Firefighters Set Ex-NFL Star's Former Home Ablaze for Training {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 5th 2012 12:04PM A lot of folks are decrying the destruction of a seeminly beautiful, not very old house, once valued at 2.5 million. BUT... Did it ever fit the neighborhood? They don't show the surrounding area. It may be filled with 3br, 2 bath houses, worth 90,000 each on a good day. A place like that one could reduce the value of the rest.

'Princess Cottage,' Home That Became Hurricane Sandy Symbol, Might Yet Be Saved {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 30th 2012 5:41PM Unless there is a zoning problem... It may not be possible to rebuild on that site with that kind of house. Otherwise, I would agree.... Easier, and probable more cost-effective to take down the reamains, and start over. Maybe re-use some of the wood for the historic value.

New Hampshire Child Falls Down Laundry Chute, Gets Trapped in Wall {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 25th 2012 4:06PM Many homes had, and still have laundry chutes. The curiosity of the very young is limitless. If it (whatever 'it' is) can be entered by a small child, it will be. Give the parents a break. The little guy is OK, though banged up a little. He'll remember his experience for a very long time, and use caution uncommon to one so young the next time he goes exploring.
