Mommies vs. the FTC: Fear and cringing in the pay-to-praise blogosphere {Daily Finance}
Dec 10th 2009 10:33PM I think most of this is piece is rather fair. And it's true, most "review blogs" are not Consumer Reports.
That said, there are plenty of moms calling marketers out for bad products. I'm thinking about HFCS in foods, phthalates in plastic, lead in toys, bank cards with hidden fees, excessive product packaging; even the discovery of BPA in the liners of formerly-loved SIGG water bottles lead to quite the outcry from many, many blogging moms.
25 Things I Promise Never to Put My Child Through {Lemondrop}
Aug 21st 2009 10:23AM Very funny list!
Although trust me, you will watch Dora. And Barney. And the Wonderpets.

Does having it all make Sarah Palin more like us? {ParentDish}
Sep 23rd 2008 4:46PM Since you brought it up, Rachel, I'm a little confused here as to what it means to "do it all."
Palin's got a son who's off to the military because of all sorts of trouble with the law and a near-failing GPA, she's got a pregnant party-girl teenage daughter who's too young to legally marry the father in most states, she's got the legislature wearing "Where's Sarah" pins because she stopped showing up to work, and she's got a small town she left behind with an enormous deficit to pay off.
We should all "do it all" so very, very well.

Patemm Changing Pad offers cool take on diaper changes {ParentDish}
Jan 27th 2007 1:26PM Ever since we covered the Patemm pads back in the early days of Cool Mom Picks it's been one of the most searched for items. These pads are absolutely wonderful - there's a reason for the cult following. And they have a whole organic cotton line too that are just beautiful.
Should Al Gore's movie be banned from public schools? {ParentDish}
Jan 27th 2007 1:13PM This is not a political issue, it's a scientific one, and I think it's EXACTLY what should be discussed in schools.
Chris, thank you for being a voice of reason here. Are we upset because this is an upsetting topic? Or because this might fly in the face of certain religious dogma?
You know it's funny, when "The Day After" came out in the early 80s, it was required watching by schoolkids and that was absolutely terrifying. It also happened to support Reagan's cold war era foreign policy. Coincidence?
Catholic school commands silence during lunch {ParentDish}
Jan 26th 2007 12:31PM Next thing you know they'll be eliminating pencils because one kid poked himself in the arm, and banning shoelaces because they can be tripped over.
What is going on with this world?
