Oct 25th 2011 4:30PM If these photo's are supposed to represent homes and businesses that have, within the current recession been vacated, then they are incorrect. I have visited several of these picture locations, and they have been vacant for many years.
While I agree that this economy has had dire consequences, this article is out of context and merely used to create sensationalism and fake nostalgia....Nice pics though.

Mar 26th 2010 9:17PM I was married for 14 years to a lying, cheating dog. No, I did not even think she was cheating. It never crossed my mind. One day a neighbor came into our back yard and was admiring all the work I had done. He was talking with me and all of a sudden, my wife appeared in the upstairs bedroom window. She looked guilty of something. Then, she decided to get some exercise at night. She began walking, and would be gone for at least an hour and came home with wet, sweaty hair. One night, I decided to invite myself, along with our young daughters. I told her to just start walking and we would try to keep up. The first night, she could not keep up with me and the daughters. She returned home behind us totally winded and couldn't breathe very well. But, we were only gone walking for about 15 minutes. The next night, I decided not to go walking. I let her go and when she was gone for about 3 minutes, I told the girls to get in the Bronco and I would take them to Dairy Queen for ice cream. We all watched as Mom went into the neighbors house as they embraced and closed the door. Sure, it hurt. But I started finding proof of other indiscretions throughout the past 13 years of marriage. I found out later that one of my daughters was not mine biologically, but I never blew the whistle. I just decided to divorce the cheating slut. It's been 15 years, and I still hate her for breaking up our family. My daughters found out, and they don't speak to their mom now.
Yes, I realize this was supposed to be about girlfriends, but once a cheater, always a cheater.

Mar 17th 2010 8:57PM I stopped watching basketball when Michael Jordan retired. I still don't watch it. I stopped watching golf when Tiger left suddenly. The things that high profile people do away from their chosen field should be left alone by John Q Public. Well..., except for Billy Boy Clinton. I was actually hoping Hillary would apply the old Cheech and Chong verdict and "Whack Bill's Pee-Pee"....In conclusion, I will have every TV on in my house, and hope Tiger wins his next Green Jacket. And, I hope Tiger passes Jack in total Majors by the end of 2011. GO TIGER...!!! Sounds to me like you're well loved out here in average land.

One thing that still puzzles me is that the Obama Health Care Plan was not written by him, nor does he know anything about it, but he's still trying to sell it. Obama has always been, and will always be a figurehead. I wish that Bush would gave declared Martial Law. None of us will ever know if McCain/Palin would have done better, but at least we would have known what we were getting, a couple of true-blue USA birth certificate toting Americans who wanted the people to prosper.

Feb 11th 2010 1:15PM In addition to what I wrote previously..., I am a construction superintendent. What Jake has offered is the cold hard truth. I deal with Engineers, Architects, Project Managers, and Owner Rep's all the time. MEP sub's definitely make a project, and for that matter are some of the most intelligible people I know. I have never known an Architect who could pass a Master Electrician or Plumber test. I've known GC's who hold a license in multiple states who cannot pass the Master's tests. What in the hell makes anyone think they can run out on a jobsite, or do a service call without years of training. Another thing that really ticks me off is that I have seen a couple of darn good electricians lose their lives because electricity is so unstable, especially 277V....If the country is flooded by people with no knowledge, there's going to be a lot of OSHA fines due to job related accidents and/or deaths. One more thing and I'll get off my soap box....If you really want to become an electrician, call your Local Union office and listen to the recording. There are NO JOBS available....We have an unbelievable number of extremely gifted and qualified electricians and plumbers sitting their butts at home, not working.
