Cyndi Lauper | Style Evolution {Stylelist}

Jun 22nd 2011 2:55PM Cyndi has always been SOOOOO pretty, and still IS. Also, she Can Actually Sing! There's no one out there now that can beat the original "in-your-face" girls - Cyndi and Madonna. They were the first and did it with class. They were able to both shock and entertain without being gross. They are still here and all others are just wanna-be's.

Minneapolis' Mushroom House for Sale {Housingwatch}

Nov 13th 2010 11:00AM I LOVE it! I most certainly would live there! Too bad it's where it's at. I hope whomever buys it will fix it up. If they don't want it though, I wonder if the whole thing could be picked up and moved...

Zach Galifianakis Didn't Smoke Pot on Show, Bill Maher Says {PopEater}

Nov 2nd 2010 6:43PM Lots of things smell like pot when burned - try alfalfa, and coltsfoot (indian's used it and many others) to name a couple. Try lighting up an herbal ciggy in a bar and see how many people around you start sniffin' and tryin' to get a "second hand" high off the smoke! ROFLMAO!!!

Texas High Schoolers Go Makeup Free for Redefining Beautiful Club {Stylelist}

Oct 11th 2010 1:34PM Obviously, you're not from TX, Janet. These girls look like they've been playing out in the Texas sun. The girl on the left side of the photo is Brown haired through and through, as shown by the "back" shot. Also, guess what? The article is about Make Up, not hair treatments. Can you say "jealous much?" How 'bout keeping in mind that old saying my father used to tell me when talking about others: "If you can't find something nice to say, *don't* say anything at all!"

Tina Knowles on Miss Tina Line at Walmart and the Importance of Plus-Size Clothing {Stylelist}

Oct 11th 2010 1:05PM So betty, what you're saying is, that women (in general), should run around nakid if they're above a size 20 or 22... hmmm, well that means I'd get fired from my job - 'cause they're not gonna let me come to work without clothes on, and then I'll have to apply for welfare, which means You'll be supporting me. Hmm, I can live with that. Doesn't that sound like a better plan, betty? ... betty? Yoo hoo! Lights are on, but nobody's home.

I also want to know when plus sizes stopped at 22? Looks to me like the model is wearing two sizes too small, so if that is this lines size 22, in reality it only goes up to 20, which is AVERAGE. Come on, designers! Get on the ball! It's not how you want us to look - it's how WE PLUS sized want to look. You're going by what *you* think, not by how *WE* think!

It all comes back to the money! You put Crud out there for us to wear, and when we don't buy it, you say there's no "market" for it. If you want plus sized people to buy your plus sized line, then you're going to have to Do the math and figure out how to make clothes that fit us, instead of just draping us with some cloth and saying okay, there ya go.

How E Ink Makes E-Reading a Pleasurable Experience {Switched}

Aug 15th 2010 1:56PM Well, I got a PanDigital eReader - it has color. It has Wi-Fi, Web access, I can check my e-mail (and respond!), get on facebook, check stocks and weather, plays music, and video's, can put pictures on it and use it as a digital photo frame, and yes, it has solitaire on it. You do have to shop B&N (mostly). The screen is bigger than the Nook too. I can hightlight text, make a note, and it even has a dictionary for any word I want to look up.

I got it for about the same price if not cheaper than the Nook (Bed, Bath, and Beyond of all places!), but the price wasn't what sold me - it was the Color feature. If I'm going to buy eBooks that have any knid of picture/illustration in it (think crafts, or cooking, etc.) or eMags (of any genre) then I want to see the pictures in COLOR! Otherwise, why bother?

True, the battery doesn't last as long, but for such a multi-use product, I'm willing to sacrifice.

Bug Off! Soap Keeps Pests at Bay {ParentDish}

Jul 4th 2010 10:37AM I don't know about using citronella oil on the skin - maybe in the soap it's deluted enough? However, if you want a super simple way to dicourage the bugs, try adding several drops of peppermint essential oil (10 to 15) to a tablespoon of witchhazel, put that in a 2oz spritzer bottle, and fill with filtered water. Shake well, and spray around neck line, arms, and feet. Not only will it keep the bugs away, but will cool you off as well!

How to Get Rid of Insects the Natural Way {Shelterpop}

Jun 13th 2010 6:45PM Cream of Wheat (or the cheep store brand) one to three tablespoons sprinkled around the mound (it depends on the size of the mound) - they eat it, drink water and "POP" goes the ant. Ant's all gone. And is not toxic to birds, or any other animal that comes along and maybe eats it or the dead ants.

Trend Spotlight: White Denim {Shopping Articles Blog}

Jun 8th 2010 9:26AM I can't imagine anything more Awkward than "white jeans" - they scream "asking for a disaster here"! Why are people still making them, much less wearing them? You can guarantee that even if "Aunt Dot" left a week ago, she will be back 20min's after you have left the house in them. Or that you will sit in something, or someone will drip/drop/splash some crud on you when you are too far from home to change and you have to wear the embarrassment for the next two hours. Com'on "fashion" industry - Wise Up! All you're doing here is setting up poor young girls who don't think past five minutes from now, for humiliation. However, I'm sure you're thinking "Ha ha ha! Those pristine white pants won't be for very long, and then they'll be spending more of Mama's hard earned cash for something smarter, and hopefully more expensive!" But times, they are a'changin'! Thank God, some people are waking up to the new economic!

DIY Cleaning Products That Are Toxin-Free {Rented Spaces}

May 23rd 2010 11:21AM It works on all sorts of other insects as well. There was a neighborhood cat that used to lay right outside my door, and the fleas would come right under the door! I sprinkled 20 mule team on the threshold and on my carpets and noticed that the other pests that crawled under the door only made it a few feet before expiring! Yea!
