Aug 3rd 2012 11:39PM This is the way it is. People with money can always get whatever they want. Buying homes based on delinquent taxes has been something investors have been doing forever. I do think this man's relationship with the city tax office clearly gave him the advantage. It doesn't seem right that this man was allowed to buy all of these homes when there were other buyers as well.All of the buyers should have been given the same opportunity and this clearly didn't happen.

Feb 12th 2010 10:19AM It's amazing that these church leaders are so out of touch with their members. This spanish priest is only looking out for his own spanish brothers and sisters. He has no concern for the best interests of America and it's citizens. They talk about unity, yet these people come here in violation of our laws in order to take everything they can take from our system. Churches need to stay out of politics because they clearly are ignoring the purpose of laws that are involved here. Our laws must be enforced if we are to maintian order in our society, People who come here illegally are not the kind of people we need in America. Also we have enough of our own poor and uneducated people who should be our first consideration. Americans deserve jobs not illegal aliens.

Feb 6th 2010 10:26PM Once again, Americans bail out people from other countries. Foreigners expect Americans to pay and pay more than their own. When I tip a server for good service, I expect that person to get the tip not the whole restaurant. These people need to be paid a decent wage by the restaurant owner. I went on a short cruise years ago and it was uncomfortable. The staff acted like vulgers waiting to pounce and they openly complained about europeans not tipping.

Jan 25th 2010 10:19PM This is a cultural thing imposed by radical muslims. I would say that any radical group under cover needs to be scrutinized closely. You can't argue using reason with unreasonable people. These women wearing burkas cannot be identified when only their eyes are exposed. We have laws that need to be enforced here. America extends freedom and tolerance to everyone coming here and these people insist on bringing their intolerant customs. American culture and laws must prevail. I'm sick and tired of being politically correct so as not to offend foreigners. They don't give a damn about America's laws and customs unless they can benefit in some way!

Yes we have freedome of religion but we must not let muslims use their cultural requirements under the guise of islam. The koran does not advocate burkas. It is a question of security and identity as well as safety. I'm sick of our stance on being politically correct to suit miniorities. If we lived in their countries, we would be forced to comply with their laws, etc.

Jan 19th 2010 10:04AM The entire infrustructure of Haiti before the quake was in shambles. Well meaning organizations and people are helping these people but in the end they must help themselves. The average woman is giving birth to 5 kids even though they cannot feed them. While they are being given food and water, the women should also be given birth control. The people need to demand more from their own government, such as schools, roads, law enforcement.

Jan 8th 2010 12:47PM I used to go to McDonalds dailymostly or the convenience, but I go to McDonalds now about twice a month. The quality of the food has declined. Most of the staff either cannot understand english or simply have no interest in customer service. Now I understand McDonalds is purchasing frozen chicken from China. This is the last straw for me, my famly and many of my friends. Companies like McDonalds need to remember that the American consumer put them on top and they are on their way down.

Jan 7th 2010 5:12PM You would think that retailers like Macy's would actually go back a few years when they actually provided good customer service in the store. I think that american consumers have been treated very badly. Merchandise is inferior yet the prices remain higher. I'm sick of chinese produced clothing with designer labels. These products may be counterfeit , but who would know since they are sold in large retail stores and the prices do not reflect the cheap labor used. I hope that American companies wake up and realize that American comsumers brought them up and and can bring them down!
