South by Southeast: In Bangkok? Head to the mall! {Gadling}

Nov 3rd 2009 7:03PM I am not a huge shopper, but when I am in Bangkok I shop! I never shop in Korea (where I live). Anything that's not going to fall apart is too expensive in Korea. I was in Bangkok a few months ago and the deals I found on shoes and bags were amazing. I also bought curtains for my entire apartment for under 60.00!!

The Emporium is one of my favorites. When I was there in August they had a HUGE tulip display in honor of the queens birthday. Awesome!

South by Southeast: Welcome to Seoul {Gadling}

Oct 20th 2009 6:45PM Great article Jeremy.

Having lived in Seoul for several years, the drawback for me are the crowds.

If you want want a unique experience spend a night in a jimjil bang, or Korean sauna. It's one that you will never forget.

Have fun!

Oct 17th 2009 7:31PM Hi Brenda,

Thanks for featuring my photo. I agree, Myanmar and the people there are fantastic. Many are against visiting because they don't want to support the Junta. However, (imo) by supporting local businesses that are not government controlled tourists are given these wonderful people a life line. Definitely a trip that I recommend.

What's wrong with the airlines' new $10 surcharge for travel on busy days? (UPDATED) {Gadling}

Sep 28th 2009 6:50PM The travel industry seems to be going the way of the banks. Charge for absolutely everything, and if they can bury the charges all the better.

We need a worldwide "Don't Fly Day".

British Airways innovates in the "new fees" department with a seat selection fee {Gadling}

Sep 27th 2009 10:12AM It seems that many businesses involved in the travel industry are finding ways to squeeze travelers. I wouldn't be surprised if more airlines don't go this route. I agree, it's pretty tacky.

It's in line with the hotel that offers you a good rate and then charges 4 bucks an hour to access the Internet from your room. That might not bother someone who is traveling strictly for pleasure. However, it becomes a significant expense for the business traveler, and especially if you are a freelancer.

Fake Canadians go home {Gadling}

Sep 1st 2009 3:23AM I'm an expat Canadian. Someone can have my place in the health care system.
Seriously, I am still proud of my country, but I never wear any kind of flag. I never and I probably never will.

Aug 27th 2009 7:26PM Hi Karen....great article. Thanks for including my photo. That day I was more concerned with not falling off the side of the hill this was growing out of! It hadn't yet reached its smelly stage, so I took the park guides word for it :)

Jun 16th 2009 9:38AM Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for choosing as a Gadling PTD, and your great description.

The monk isn't blind, and I watched him for quite a while before taking the shot. I did ask his permission, and he gave me a nod.
