Aug 9th 2011 9:44AM Katiedid, I would not question it! As for the "shower shoes," which they were called in my day: We wore them from our bunk to the shower, no further, and definately not outside! Later on, they were called "thongs", and now they are "Flip Flops". Call them anything, but wear shoes, please.

May 30th 2011 10:58AM As a previous homeless veteran now in my 73rd year, I can attest to the fact that the V.A. is second to none in their Deviltry! I was 56 years old, in my 30th year of disability, when I ended up in a car with my late wife. No one gave a rat's ass when I served in the Navy/Army, and no one gives a rat's ass when I was homeless. Even now, as I finally "won"? my claim after 36 years of battling the evil V.A.,no one cares. It has not changed, and I doubt it ever will. Accept it guys, for you will be forgotten in a heartbeat. My brother died, the longest living parapeligic in U.S. military history.Together, we 5 gave 150 years to this nation. With that, and a buck and a half, I can get a cup of coffee! Yes, I still LOVE my country, and LOVE my fellow GIs!!

Apr 24th 2011 11:44AM What? Can't get kids to do chores? My mom, and parents of her generation, had no problem with that! No therapy involved either. All mom had to do was say "Do it"! If you cared to stay alive, you did it! In my family, we were a team, not owed everything by our parents! No wonder this country is so screwed up!

Jan 29th 2011 8:43PM I ate at a few McDonalds and KFCs while in China, not out of curiosity, but to avoid more food poisoning, and awful local food! The McDonalds in Chongchin & Chengdu were far better than the American ones. The one in Wuhan was awful. KFC was a disaster, as the Chinese love of oil (10w30,I think!) ruined the minature Chinese chickens! The chicken was soaked clear through with oil, and terrible. The only thing worse was the Chinese food, which, unlike the delicious American style Chinese food, was horrid, and I had food poisoning, and even Pneumonia from the filth! I'm staying home now!
