Sign up for Google's Blogger and get a GrandCentral invite {Download Squad}

Feb 22nd 2008 6:29PM Thank you very much for posting this very compelling information about invites to Google's GrandCentral Beta account. I do have several blogger accounts but it didn't seem to matter.

I filled out the basic forms and got my account within a matter of minutes.

Thanks again for the cool tip.

Get your @live.com email address today {Download Squad}

Nov 7th 2007 3:35AM The reason why you're all getting error messages is no doubt because you using firefox to sign up at live.com . As a rule if I want to update or download any Microsoft product I'll close down firefox and use IE 7.

Even using the firefox IE extension is not always a guarantee of success. Any of you who've received the error message may want to try this suggestion which I'm quite certain will resolve any error rmessages.

I myself emailed the live.com link to my gmail account downloaded the link in gmail via IE 7 without a hitch which I'm certain will work for all of you.

New York Times adds reader comments to front page (of web site) {Download Squad}

Oct 15th 2007 10:41AM Conundrum, indeed. The New York Times recently returned to its all-free content model after several months of a premium-content subscription service..They added up the numbers and realized overall revenue decreased
as a function of the two-tiered system.

If the vaunted New York Times can't make a go of it what does it say about the industry as a whole? The Wall Street Journal has managed to buck this trend but at what cost? The walled-in, subscription-only model leads to less
market penetration/circulation overall and diminished exposure of its advertisers a trade-off the Wall Street Journal seems willing to deal with

Back up your Firefox settings with MozBackup {Download Squad}

Sep 3rd 2007 1:28PM I don't believe the reader extolling the virtues of FEBE Firefox backup extension ever used it in a real life situation to re-cover lost profile data
and is simply basing FEBE only on the visual machinations, bells and whistles FEBE displays when implementing a back ujp.

FEBE is an extensions backup extension and does a marvelous demonstration of its seemingly vaunted capabilities with an impressive retinue of on-screen visual machinations, bells and whistles that leaves no doubt your data is safe and secure but which I unfortunately found to be quite the opposite.

FEBE does NOT in fact save your Firefox profile data on your desktop and if that's what you use it for please think again.

I had lost all my FF 2.06 default user data when creating a new user profile to check out the Firefox's latest 3.0 version when Mozilla unconscionably also upgraded my default 2.06 browser wiping away
all my extensive profile data in the process

I wasn't overly upset because I had installed FEBE for just such a scenario but was shocked that FEBE does not maintain any profile
data on your desktop.

Visit the FEBE Discussions page at Firefox addons at
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2109 to read more.

MyUninstaller - alternative to Add or Remove Programs {Download Squad}

Aug 5th 2007 8:17PM I've been using MyUninstaller for about six months and definitely recommend it as an excellent product for the ease/convenience and never fail perfomance uninstalling/removing programs without a hassle.

It's a far superior product to the Windows uninstaller, providing many more features and program information. Not to mention not having to deal ever again with Microsoft's incredibly irritating habit of not telling you what program you have as the default but to merely say "the program I'm using now". That has always annoyed me to no end.
