HOA 'Steals' Homeowner's Virgin Mary Statue {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 13th 2011 3:46PM I am sure they knew the rules of HOA before they moved in. I think they need to be respectful of others, maybe those who don't have the same religious beliefs. However, I do side in favor of anyone wanting to fly the American flag on their property. If you are here in America, you should be supporting America.
Family Wrongly Booted From Home Returns To Wreckage {AOL Real Estate}
Dec 1st 2011 2:03PM I recently closed my account at BOA. Even though the customer service rep didn't bother asking why I was closing it, I told him some of the reasons anyway. He tried to redeem their poor reputation some by pulling out a brochure and telling me that BOA does a lot of good things to help Americas. As he was paging through the brochure, it was obvious that he had NO idea what he was talking about and was trying to find the information to back up his statement. I couldn't stand it any longer and said "Don't you think that as a member of management with this bank that it would be part of your job to know these types of things off the top of your head?" He had no response. Account closed .... Have a nice day!

Oct 25th 2011 8:52PM Shirley .... Like you, I worked since I was 16 or 17 years old. I never called in sick unless I was truly sick. I remember my parents telling me that if you needed unemployment, you had to do "SOMETHING" before receiving a check. That means you swept the streets or whatever task or assignment was given to you. People complained it was demeaning and it stopped. Really? Just like when prisoners actually had to work while imprisoned, rather than have use of fancy gym equipment, more TV channels than I can afford and healthcare, which many working Americans don't have.
The same goes for tolerance of other cultures. While I am respectful of everyone, we certainly don't have to fund other countries when so many here continue to suffer. And while I'm on this subject .... if you're here, SPEAK ENGLISH! And those who believe in this should stop buying things with things written in Spanish on the packaging. I was so ticked off recently while food shopping. I came across frozen vegetables that not only showed the picture of the vegetable, but it also showed what the vegetable was in English AND Spanish. This is America, right? Learn the language!
As far as the drug addicts go, I'm all for treating them. I'd like to treat them all to ONE LAST HURRAH.... the ULTIMATE HIGH.... give them all an overdose and be done with them. No one made them try it to begin with so there's no sympathy here.
Athletes, entertainers, CEO's, and certainly politicians all make way too much money! Enough said.
With regard to those who think tattoos, piercings and my favorite ... the huge holes in the ears, are a form of art and feel the need to display it on their bodies, don't expect to accomplish great things in the corporate world. I just can't imagine anyone showing you any kind of respect when you can't even respect your own body.
Anyway, great article, Shirley!

NCL to Offer "Power Hour" of Savings Before Fare Hike {AOL Travel News}
Mar 30th 2010 8:15PM In my opinion, Norwegian is the worst cruise line ever. I sailed with them once years ago. As an example, the soup with dinner the first night was chicken. The second night it was cream of chicken. Guess what was on the menu for the third night.... yep, corn chowder. So the second night they added cream to the chicken soup from the first night and then for the third, they threw in some corn. The staff was not friendly at all. One night my son didn't care for anything on the menu and asked if he could have a hamburger. They told him no! At that point, he and I went up to the grill to get a burger and brought it back to the dining room so we could eat with the entire family. Norwegian will NEVER get anymore of my business!

May 8th 2009 8:43PM MakeMeBetter.... you have the capability to be online, but you are complaining that you can't give your children what they deserve? I work VERY hard for my money and let me tell you... even with a heart condition, I'm sure there is something you can do. I see plenty of people everyday working who are exerting themselves at all!
And those lucky enough to get this money, good for you! Every little bit helps today! Spend it wisely... perhaps find a way to make someone else smile.
