Delta Air Lines charges returning soldiers for checked bags {Gadling}

Jun 8th 2011 7:31AM I would encourage everyone to go to the Delta blog and post how they feel. There have only been 33 comments thus far and they need to hear from all of us. The link in this article is: http://blog.delta.com/2011/06/07/military-travel-baggage-policies-our-thoughts/

Lisa's New Year Diet Led to a 50-Pound Weight Loss {That's Fit}

Jun 5th 2011 12:01PM AOL, this is incredibly irresponsible editorial content. While I appreciate you're looking for "sensational" stories, you also should be responsible in that quest. This women is so clearly under every health agency chart of what is a good weight - and you know that. To feature it sends the wrong message.

Galley Gossip: A flight attendant responds to the first class orange juice debacle {Gadling}

Dec 13th 2009 2:10PM You know, I don't think Heather needs to be villified for posting her thoughts here, whether we agree or not. Frankly, with the number of people who fly each day and the interactions between FA's and customers, we rarely hear of egregious behaviour. Doesn't mean it hasn't happened but we certainly would have heard about it more often.

Reading these, I sometimes wonder just how unprofessional one can get. Debate the issue, not the person.

Galley Gossip: The first class / orange juice passenger responds to what happened in flight {Gadling}

Dec 12th 2009 8:32PM Well, bad airline experience, very nice flight attendants. At Dulles, had a gate person actually yell at me for requesting premier seating. (This was before you had the opportunity to pay for it) I told him I was a premier executive flier and he told me I was a liar, that my ticket didn't show it.

Instead of arguing and missing my flight, I turned to board the plane. The person taking the boarding passes apologized to me and when I got on the plane, the FA said hello and I burst into tears. She pulled me into the galley and then a restroom and heard my story. She disappeared, a few minutes later the pilot walked by and left the plane, a few minutes later, the pilot and gate person returned and I got a profuse apology.

I appreciated the FA's taking the time to address what happened to me. I'm lucky, 98% of my interactions with FA's are positive. The only time I've seen rude, inconsiderate FA's have been regional jets for larger carriers

Galley Gossip: 9/11 - We will never forget {Gadling}

Sep 11th 2009 7:27PM I was on one of the first flights out of Hartford, CT after 9/11, going to a funeral in Louisiana. There were 10 of us on the flight heading to Atlanta but the airline said they wanted to show everyone our strength, that we would continue to fly. It was a large plane and they moved all of us to first class where we remained completely silent during the entire flight.

Back home and in the aftermath, they showed the path of the planes from Boston and it appeared one of them flew directly over the highway that I drive on daily to work. Since that day, every day, when I see a plane in the sky, I say a "Please be safe"

10 Passengers we love to, umm....not like as much as the others: Day 4 - The passenger who tries to score a free first class seat {Gadling}

Jun 14th 2009 2:04PM I've occasionally been upgraded at the gate and even a few times negotiated an upgrade. When they are (desperately) asking for people to give up seats for a flight that's oversold, the very few times I can make a change, I'll ask. I've even offered to forego the free ticket to get upgraded to 1st class ir business class on long east coast to west coast flights. If they have it available, they do it. If they don't, I get a free ticket. I fly enough to be reasonable and know that they'll do what they can.

One time I turned it down. A gate agent was incredibly rude to me, even yelling at me over something he misunderstood. I travel quite a bit and normally, I'm unphased but I got on the plane crying. The flight attendant grabbed me, got me in the rest room, asked what was wrong, got the pilot, he went out to the gate agent and they came back offering me first class and an apology. I told them I didn't want it, the apology was all I wanted. I felt foolish afterward but was appreciative that the flight attendant and pilot were concerned.
