Jan 9th 2012 1:39PM I have been there. We were on a cruise ship that stopped at "Calichi". We hopped on four wheel drive jeeps and went to this cave. It was wonderful. Water was cold, and it made you skin feel like you had a mud bath massage! Well, I guess it really was!
We must have went there not too long after it opened, and felt comfotable. Now, who knows, but at the time, it was a great excursion from the cruise ship!

Sep 28th 2011 2:28PM There is so much dis-information on the "Mortgage Crises", it's crazy, but a couple of people here almost have it right. I have over 22 years in direct mortgage lending and 30+years in real estate.
Chris Dodd and Barney Frank were the culprits who FORCED the GSE's to lower the standards for lending. They threatened to cut off any funding if FNMA & FHLMC did not increase homeownership to 70%+, and include the "disenfranchised" (read minority) Americans. The GSE's complied, and the results were a disaster, along with the sub-prime lending that was instituted because of greed from overseas, that went thru Wall Street down to the lenders and thru the Mortgage Brokers (of which I am still a Proud MB), and ultimately to the consumer. There was greed at all levels and justification along the way.
The borrowers said--"If they'll lend me that much, I'll take it". The Brokers said, "If we don't do the loan, the next one will". The Lenders said, "We will sell this paper to Wall Street". Wall Street said, "We'll sell this paper overseas, and insure against it in some instances"!
Now comes Dodd & Frank, 10 years later, and come up with the Dodd-Frank Plan that KILLS most Mortgage Brokers, and protects their friends the banks, that were already bailed out once, but since they would NEVER bail out a Broker, in Dodd-Frank, in essence they rip income from us and the banks end up with it! Dodd-Frank is a disaster for the Brokers and the consumers too. EVERY time the Government comes up with a plan to "save the consumer's money", it ends up costing them more, as in the HVCC rulse on appraising and the Dodd-Frank rules!
As a side note; Chris Dodd was one of the many in Congress and the Senant that were FOA's; other wise known as Friends of Angelo; who happened to be the owner of Countrywide Mortgage. Chris Dodd closed two loans with Countrywide the same day, both as Owner Occupied loans, not one as O/O and the other as a second home, but both as O/O. The raet differencial of the 2nd home status would have been about .25% difference, but he lied and fraudulendly closed these most likely knowing what he did was illegal!

but as someone who addresses the issues so others, Dems and Repubs
have to address them also. Basically the same as Trump. I don't
think either would be good candidates, but are good for the election!

Nov 18th 2010 1:01PM It seems odd that the headline reads "Tea Partieers Gaming The Syatem", when that is the way it works. Wasn't Brandy's supports, or Curts supporters, or whomever supporters voting for them too! Are they gaming the system? The youung black man that's left and Jennifer ??, have supporters too. Why doesn't the headline read," Young Black Man's supporters gaming the system", or "Jennifer Gray's supporters gaming the system"?
The media thinks anything to do with a "Palin" must be corrupt. Just not true. leave the girl alone and get back to your dreay life!
