Dog found at summit of Kilimanjaro {Gadling}
Sep 3rd 2011 2:12PM Why is that that everyone in the western world feels that everytime they see an animal, That it needs to be rescued? Would you rescue an elephant walking through Africa? Jeesh people, Animals have been living on this planet long before we selfishly decided that we should domesticate them.. Leave them alone.. After 10 years on that mountain, this dog is obviously doing fine without somebody feeling the need to stick their noses into its business.. Maybe next time your are out shopping at the mall and sit on the bench to rest for a minute, somebody will trap you and rehabitate you to the life they think you should live.
Do You Believe Taco Bell Serves 'Real' Meat? {That's Fit}
Mar 19th 2011 6:13AM When I saw their ad defending their meat as 88% pure beef, I could only laugh. Taco Bell Just doesn't get it. When I make tacos at home I use 100% beef, no fillers, no protein extenders, just beef with a few spices. What the consumer wants are an authentic taco. But Taco Bell and Yum Brands managed to take something so simple and turn it into a total mess. This is equivalent to taking a PBJ sandwich and adding wax and plastics to it to extend it (for financial gain) and then justifying it as saying that in consumer tests it was chosen over the PBJ that your mother used to make by 3 to 1. I'm sorry, but it just isn't the same. You just don't mess with something so simple as ground beef, lettuce and cheese on a corn shell, just as you don't change the words to the National Anthem.
It seems like it was the mid or late 80's that they adulterated their recipe and this is when I quit eating there on a regular basis, going from once or twice weekly to one time every 18 months or so. It just quit being the same old taco that I knew and grew up with, yet I keep occasionally checking back if only to see if they have gone back to their old taste that I grew up with. Furthermore, they have so many different confusing crap items on their menu anymore, (for what amounts to the same dozen ingredients) that I just don't know how to figure out what is what or what is in any item on their menu board. The least they could do is offer a written guide explaining what is in a Gordita or a Chimmi-tosta-barfa-irito or what ever they creatively call the messes that they create so I don't have to ask what the heck is in everything!I hope Yum Brands or some of their shareholders read this and take my comments under consideration. and further realize that by defending 88% beef, they still fall short of what the public expects of their products.
Pilot Holds Plane for Grandfather Of Murdered Toddler {AOL Travel News}
Jan 14th 2011 3:22AM Big deal... As an employee for another major carrier in the us, I had held flights several times for passengers rushing to say goodbye to a loved one. My ex is still working for the same airline and as a manager, often makes that decision and holds flights. I have friends for other major and minor carriers who do the same thing when the opportunity arises when they can do it without effecting the operation. The difference between us and Southwest? Incidents like this happens from time to time.. We do not seek free advertisement and increased ridership by patting ourselves on the back and releasing the story to the press. Going public with this story does nothing but create a problem for all air carriers whereas the passengers will use this information in an attempt to save they're own hind ends if they're running late for a flight, therefore causing the airlines to cease beliving everyone as it will become a regular complaint that ticket and gate agents will be hearing multiple times a week.
Think about when it was published that if a passenger complains, they may be able to score a free first class upgrade, or that a passenger could score a free round trip flight credit if they volunteer to give up their seat on an overbooked flight.. all of a sudden, passengers throughout the world were trying to use this information for their own benefit. I have personally, on more than one occasion, seen passengers fight because one passenger (who signed up after the other or for other various operational reasons) was not awarded a flight coupon or an upgrade that he felt he was intitled to. It is human nature of some people who after reading a story like this, to attempt to avoid personal inconvenience will inconvenience others and delay a flight just because they are late. And you must realize that this will happen throughout the airline industry. And now for those with the true need will be able to thank Southwest Airlines for them missing that opportunity for that one last living moment with their loved one.

Hot or Not: Knee Socks {Shopping Articles Blog}
Oct 12th 2010 11:58PM I've always appreciated seeing a long legged woman in knee-highs. Until I see the inevitable woman with elephant legs in knee-highs and a mini skirt that just will scar my corneas and memory for the rest of my life!
Circumcision: Is It Right for Your Baby Boy? {ParentDish}
Aug 31st 2010 10:25PM Stupid quote of the decade:>> "parents should first consider whether or not the father is circumcised.
"If so, then proceed, if no then do not do it," he says. "Because when this boy grows up, he will be very different from his father.""
You've got to be kidding me! What are you smoking?? Using this logic, If a father only has one testicle or loses one or both in an accident, then you should cut off the testicle(s) of his little boy so as they won't be different. This has got to be the most asinine reason for circumcision that I have ever heard. It's not like a father and son sit around and compare penises when they have free time to bond. At least I hope not because if this is the case, I was neglected by my father.
I was circumcised as an infant. It was not my choice, I was not asked, nor could I answer at two days old but it was the choice by my well meaning parents. In essance it was a legally, medically and church sanctioned sexual and physical abuse, assault and mutilation on my body in which I had no say in the matter. I would not have chosen to do this to myself or to have done this had I had a son. My wife (at the time) thought that should we have a boy, that circumcision should be done. Her reasoning was that as a women, she prefered a circumcised penis and thought that an uncircumsized penis was ugly and gross. This shouldn't have mattered to her as I don't think she planned an incestious relationship with our son but she narrowmindedly thought she was speaking for all women. Why should a women have any say into altering a male sexual organ that they will never have any concept of understanding (let alone be writing this article.) We, in civilized countries, don't go around saying infant girls should have their clitoral hood removed. As a matter of fact this procedure is banned by the United Nations and the medical community as unneccesary and is considered to be Female Genital and Sexual Mutilation, so why do we believe that it is ok to mutilate a male infant without his consent?. My wife neglected to consider the wishes of the victim..our child. And she was going to have it done regardless of what I had to say on the matter. (shows you how much she respected my opinion and why we are not together any longer.) Fortunately, we ended up having a beautiful little girl which ended that disagreement as I would have needed to obtain a court order to stop her from mutulating our infant boy and I was prepared to do so.
Furthermore, using statistics from third world countries which do not have proper sanitary practices and still refuse to use condoms because they feel it's a white mans plot to extinguish the African race does not properly reflect what is truly happening in the rest of the world and should be invalidated just because of those reasons. And an uncircumsized penis being 'ugly and gross' or 'he will be teased by the other boys in school' is not valid reasons to attack your child with a non necessary medical procedure. I don't understand how anyone could do this to their child without considering his wishes and not have remorse. Would you as a parent still do it if by law they were required to have an equal portion of skin removed from your own body? I think not.. And why? Because it is unnecessary and will cause you pain. You are making a decision for your male child that he may or may not want. I suggest that you wait till he has grown old enough to make his own educated decision on this matter. In the mean time, all you need to do is be a responsible parent and keep it clean till he is old enough to know how to clean it by himself. I strongly urge you not to physically assult and sexually mutulate your child in this way.
Five Possible Jeannies for the Big Screen 'I Dream of Jeannie' {AOL TV}
Apr 27th 2010 1:35PM Sarah Silverman???I think not. I cannot imagine how the press junket would be with her spouting her political views all over the place and taking her comments away from the focus of the movie. An example of how an actor has killed their career by using the stage to push an agenda. I used to really like her as a comedian too before she got too political. Try again!
Five Possible Jeannies for the Big Screen 'I Dream of Jeannie' {AOL TV}
Apr 27th 2010 1:27PM Oh please not Cameron Diaz, That woman makes me want to puke! I would like to see the role being played differently than a clone or look alike of Barbara Eden, who I also agree cannot/should not be imitated. I may be biased but I would love to see Penélope Cruz in the role. Her "perkiness" would bring credit to the role and her accent could be a plot item. Sure it would be a stretch to explain why a Spaniard is a Genie, but they never did explain how a fair blonde was a genie either! If they had to go with a blonde, how about Yvonnne Strahovski from the NBC show "Chuck"? I think she could carry the role very well.
Researchers Discover Legal Way to Spy on Cell Phone Users {Switched}
Apr 27th 2010 12:52PM Publishing crap like this is not only stupid and should hold the author liable for future criminal activity of anyone who is stupid enough to follow through with these instructions, but is another example of why freedom of the press should be reigned in. I personally am tired of the press using the first amendment as a shield for behavior that could cause harm to any persons or corporations. They need to be more responsible, start thinking about the long term effects of their actions other than "the scoop" and start policing themselves in a real way, before somebody gets hurt and the government is forced to police them for its own protection and that of its citizens.
