Mar 5th 2011 9:53AM Walmart is consistently less expensive for me. I do go to other stores for special itema. Yes Walmart keeps fixing up their stores; I think that's a good thing! KMart stores don't invest in upgrades and look like they are about to close. Target has some nice styles but also a lot of shoddily made clothing and other things: you've really got to be careful. And Progresso soup is regularly priced at $2.69 in my area. I make different kinds of delicious soups inexpensively and freeze these in plastic containers I save from Chinese take-out and delis. Much better tasting and better for you than the store-bought soups.

Mar 3rd 2011 6:24PM I am Swedish, not American, not Arab; why include all this hostility against Arabs? Emirates flies with very international crews. There are plenty of American pilots and crew on Emirates Airlines. I am not in the industry but American friends of mine are and have friends who fly for Emirates. Arabs are by and large the most pleasant, gracious, intelligent, and hospitable people you would ever want to meet. I am very sorry for the loss of the lady who died. May her family find peace in remembering what a good person she must have been, traveling around the world to visit with an old friend. She sounds like a lovely lady. I don't know if a law suit is warranted but as many have already stated above, there are far too many law suits. And finally, we should all take the Red Cross classes in first aid so that, God forbid, if this were to happen with us nearby, we could help the ailing person.

Aug 18th 2010 7:08PM The City government represents the people that vote it in. Their decisions mirror what the people want or they will be out in the next election. It is very unlikely that this type of legislation will spread around the country. Very few places have the shortage of housing that San Francisco and New York have. I can't think of a single other city that is so afflicted. I have been to San Francisco many times and have had no problem finding reasonably priced hotels, even on the water front. Use the on line booking services and you will find the same to be true. Finally, I am not interested in your political opinions so keep them to yourselves.

Hello! If you all along focus on who you are as a person, reaching your goals in life, being a good friend, a decent person, a helper of the helpless; then you won't have time to worry about such nonsense. People are beautiful at any age when they have something to contribute, when they are warm and kind, when they reach beyond themselves and when they are not self absorbed. Reorient your life and you will feel beautiful again!

Aug 16th 2010 3:46PM The young woman should have been turned over to authorities upon arrival. She may have a mental condition that caused her to behave badly. Even if so, no one may spit on another. Thus the police authorities should have been called in and asked to investigate. No wonder flight attendants are rebelling! I have many times seen passengers treat flight attendants very rudely. I have never seen a flight attendant treat a passenger rudely. I am very much in favor of arresting every passenger who behaves badly, for the sake of the crew, for the sake of the other passengers, and, foremost, for everyone's safety.
