Tom Roeser Buys Up Town's Foreclosure Stock to Keep It Thriving {AOL Real Estate}

Apr 5th 2013 3:13PM I think what this man Tom is doing is really great. He truly uses actions instead of words. He is caring about his fellow citizen and especially those who have served this country - our government needs people like him to show them how to honor our veterans!!!
I will know what it is like to lose a home because of excessive taxes. I pay out over 7 thousand a year on a 17,000 income. This country is cruel and going to get nastier by allowing people who entered ths country illegally (committing a Federal Crime) to become legal.

Homeowner Susie Salazar Loses Insurance Policy Over Pit Bull {AOL Real Estate}

Mar 24th 2013 3:15AM We have a neighbor who has a female and a male pit bull who get out quite frequently. It is so bad that when there was an accident involving their parked car the policeman put a note on the door. I asked why and he said the dogs were vicious. These pit bulls have just had a litter of 5. We cannot walk for fear in our neighborhood. The reason I am saying this is it is a known fact that certain breeds do not just bite they maul someone to death. I think I read recently that 35 people were killed in one year from pit bulls. Understand that if a 30 old teacher is killed they figure his annual salary to age 70, then the medical bills, funeral costs, and pain & suffering. That is a huge payout. If they have facial damage. or limb paralysis the lawsuit payout is even more.
I know my insurance company changed things - it was included in my renewal papers which most people never realy read. If this woman was never notified then they should not be allowed to cancel her policy until the term of renewal is up.

Full Disclosure Laws: Janet Milliken Sues Seller, Realtor Over Home's Notorious Past {AOL Real Estate}

Jan 30th 2013 2:15PM I live in PA and bought in 1988. I know that at that time our real estate agent told us she had to disclose if any crime had occurred in any house she would sell. The reason I remember: even though my husband was very well educated - he was petrified of ghosts. We ended up buying new construction because of that.
I hope you win your case - I think it is a disgrace not to disclose a home's past. I absolutely would not live in a home where a murder/suicide took place. Makes you wonder what else this supposed real estate agent hid?
Next time - before you buy, run the address through a check for criminal past or make it part of the agreement of sale.

Justinianos' Bronx Home is 12 Inches From Apartment Building Construction, and It's Ruining Their View {AOL Real Estate}

Jan 19th 2013 7:22PM Not everyone who buys a home and is paying a mortgage can buy the property to stop this. I was told there had to be a minimum of 6 feet each side of the home's walls which would be 12 feet total between 2 homes. We were issued a Usage and Occupancy certificate and had 5 code violations on our furnace. Somebody got paid good money to do that. My sister lives in NY state and moved into her 3 year old home. In December her & husband were having to escape the fire in their home. There were 7 code violations on their fireplace and heatalator wall that was there when they bought the house. They worried about gun deaths - I wonder how many people dies in fires in one year in NYC?

Justinianos' Bronx Home is 12 Inches From Apartment Building Construction, and It's Ruining Their View {AOL Real Estate}

Jan 19th 2013 6:41PM I live in a single family ranch in a nice heavily taxed township. They allow 6 feet on my side and supposedly 6 ft on the next house over. When it caught fire they had to hose my home down for 3 hours to prevent losing my home. Somebody got paid, in the New York City big office to allow this to go through. These homeowners cannot even get to their house on that side to have maintenance done. Is the person who bought the land then lied an immigrant? Complain to the immigration office that he presented false facts for building.

Houston Firefighters Miss Body in House Fire, Mom Finds Son Dead the Next Day {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 28th 2012 11:21PM I also as a nurse have been in hoarders homes. I could not even begin to imagine getting out of there in an emergency. As to being found, the firemen cannot possibly go through every piece of rubble. They use prod or probe sticks and in a hoarders' home who knows what they were feeling with those sticks. Her son does not come to her house on Christmas and she did nothing to the next day? Why didn't she call his neighbors? This man sounds like he was a loner/hoarder so neighbors probably had no information to give the firemen to contact next of kin.

Jeffrey Mitchell of Miramar Beach, Fla., Displays 'Sex Offender' Sign in His Front Yard {AOL Real Estate}

Dec 8th 2012 5:24PM I have had porn IM's sent to me right on AOL...complained but nothing got done so I typed in police and hit reply/send.
I am really concerned that in a so-called Democracy a person can be forced to spend thousands of dollars for his defense and when he runs out of money has to accept a plea bargain.
I thought they could trace on the computer log when and who downloaded it. Can't they tell if a hacker did hack him? Could the police or government agency have put it on his computer? And the child pornography site I bet is still being allowed to operate. Any charges against them?

Hurricane Sandy Victims' Electric Bills Show Charges for Power Despite Blackout {AOL Real Estate}

Nov 27th 2012 8:48PM This is ridiculous. They want these people who just lost everything including (electricity, heat, phone, and in some cases cell phone usage) to pay some outlandish bill that is an estimate. You notice that the company made sure they will get overpaid. This company needs their license revoked. I got a bill from my electric company in January - it was like 3 times my normal bill and I called the company who said it was an estimate and told me Christmas was in that bill. My answer: look at my last name & tell me I celebrate Christmas. They were off by over 1000kw/h. These companies need to be regulated.

Buffalo, New York: The Best Maligned Place {Gadling}

Nov 27th 2012 6:47AM Buffalo has always been part of the vocabulary in my family as my Dad was born there in 1913. His father worked for the railroad. My Dad was the last of the six boys and my Dad loved Buffalo. It has quite a history - the head of the Iroquois Nation was a woman who lived down the street from my Dad. Their schools must have taught well as 3 of the boys went on to college. Yes, I grew up hearing about the snow from my Dad "you don't want to walk to school in a foot of snow? I walked in 4 feet of snow"...LOL. I finally got to see Buffalo in 1989 with my husband - but like you said we needed a local/native to really see Buffalo.

Ghosts Of A Dictatorship: Visiting Saddam Hussein's Palaces {Gadling}

Nov 27th 2012 6:26AM I am laughing because Bush started that war on a lie and how is what Hussein did any different than what the US Congressmen have done to the US tax-payer? How many millions just for alcoholic beverages did we pay for, how many expensive restaurant lunches/dinners did we pay for? The best one though is: the astronomical pensions and the medical benefits those Congressman get while stripping even more coverages from Medicare. People in the US are in need of health & drugs too. Many elderly in this country make a decision between heat or their meds. Have you heard of school/property taxes in the US? We are no different really than Iran.
