Jun 3rd 2011 6:00AM This yearbook is a prime example of the indoctrination of our young people that is being done in our schools. School children should be taught FACTS, not the political views of the 'teaching' staff. Our schools need to get back to the job of teaching, not indoctrination. No wonder this country is in such bad shape. By the time these young mush-minds have to deal with the 'real world', it may be too late to salvage the pitiful scraps that remain of our once-great Constitution.

Feb 28th 2011 11:58AM Coffee filters work great in flower pots. When filling pot, put gravel (or other drainage material) in bottom of pot. Cover gravel with a coffee filter, then continue to fill with potting soil and plants. The filter keeps the soil from sifting through the gravel and into the saucer below. I have used this method for years.

Quit paying these young 'wanna-be-mama's to pop out little government-funded playthings. If (when) they understand that "Uncle Sugar Big-Bucks" will no longer fund their little playhouses and they alone are responsible for taking care of their own problems, then perhaps they will begin to understand just how great a responsibility (and how expensive) a child is. As long as we (the hardworking American taxpayer) continue to fund their irresponsible behavior they have no incentive to change their ways.

Jan 18th 2011 8:10AM Just another government mandate to teach our children that they have no responsibility for their actions; that the government will do it for them. The USDA has no business in our schools. The school's responsibility is to provide a balanced lunch in a clean and safe environment, without government interference. If a parent chooses for their child to not participate, that is the choice of the parent. I can see the 'success' of this program, the same as the 'free breakfast' programs in schools, where 80-90% of meals end up in the trash. Kids pick out what they want (if any) and trash the rest. We need LESS, not more, government interference in our lives and the lives of our children.

Jan 17th 2011 6:53AM The only cats that I have ever had a severe problem with are un-fixed male cats. They are almost impossible to eliminate. On all others, most general products work fine. A local pet hospital uses a solution of peroxide and almond flavoring. That also seems to work well.
