Jun 14th 2010 7:56AM I don't know whether Jaden Smith is a brat..... and it doesn't matter in a movie review.
I took my kids to see "Karate Kid" and really wasn't looking forward to it because I was thinking.... another poorly made remake, another kid who is an "actor" because of his famous parents..... WOW was I wrong!!! I found "Karate Kid" to be entertaining, inspiring and all out incredibly good! I loved the lessons that were taught, the scenery was amazing, the acting was really pretty good (no, Jackie Chan isn't the best actor), the stunts were incredible, all positive things for a movie!!!
I highly recommend this as a parent of preteens....There was no sexual undertone, and the few inappropriate words were addressed as being inappropriate. Two thumbs up in my book!!!!

Jun 28th 2007 1:47PM If you watch the show, the girls parents aren't American-born. I believe they are of Latino-descent. It seems to be a case of parents who made a lot and tried to give it all to their daughter. Unfortunately, a child can't handle very much. Give them a little at a time and teach them to be thankful and appreciative -- and POLITE! If any of my kids spoke like that we would immediately take their friends home and they would spend their time in their room until their behavior changed. If it didn't change, I'd whip their butt!
