Travel Alert! Virgin sale to from LA - Sydney -- for $480! {Gadling}
Oct 23rd 2008 4:06PM Looks like Virgin figured out their mistake and has removed it. I had a $483 roundtrip fare on my screen before lunch that I was considering, and when I came back and decided to give it a go, it had been removed.

Oct 9th 2008 5:26PM Thanks Kent. It seems as though most people who visit the area head to the American Cemetery, then are on their way - especially in the colder months.
A trip down to the beaches is definitely worthwhile - just trying to imagine what it must have been like to land there on D-day.
Happy Birthday Gadling! Win free premium tickets to Amsterdam on OpenSkies! {Gadling}
Oct 7th 2008 11:45AM Happy Birthday Gadling.
Since I've never been to Amsterdam (yet), I'd use the tickets to kick off a proper tour of the city - the canals, Vondelpark, Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Anne Frank House, and of course food!

Oct 3rd 2008 7:32PM Hi Aaron,
Thanks for the nod with photo of the day. One thing I wanted to point out... It's better if you use the embedded link to the actual Flickr photo instead of uploading a copy of it to your server. It'll actually save you guys on bandwidth costs, and it's more in line with the Flickr community guidelines.
You can get the HTML to embed the image here:

Thanks again!

Bill, that's a great perspective. Makes me wish I had access to a helicopter!
Anheuser-Busch rejected InBev offer {Slashfood}
Jun 30th 2008 8:02PM Anheuser-Busch has done the exact same thing to other companies that InBev is now trying to do to them. The only difference is that this time, it's an iconic American company trying to be bought up by a European company instead of the other way around.
I'd hate to see AB get bought too, but what's good for the goose...

Is four days too short for a trip to Shanghai? {Gadling}
Jun 4th 2008 5:17PM I had an awesome time in Shanghai when I was there last year. 4 days is certainly not enough time to do it proper, but you can still have a lot of fun. The airport is easy.
One thing to note - I've heard recently that they aren't currently issuing multiple entry visas, something you might want/need to consider if you think you would be back within six months.
I'd say that the food alone is worth the trip, but that's just me. Then again, I'd also never use my FF miles for such a short trip!

Jun 3rd 2008 4:22PM I'll second that. Some days it's painful to wade through (no offense meant to correy-wood).

Jun 2nd 2008 12:36PM I only wish I was staying in an apartment so I could have bought some and tried to figure out how to cook them!
