Pilot's New Book Argues 'Everything You Know About Air Travel is Wrong' {Gadling}
May 14th 2013 11:05PM Instead of arguing back and forth about pilot pay why doesn't someone look it up.
http://work.chron.com/annual-salary-commercial-pilot-2162.html
The average is $78,000 a year for commercial pilots. The LOWEST is $36,000 and the highest is $124,000. So Larry is talking through his hat as anyone with two betz cells could affirm.
Michelle Hansen Tags Home With Message to Chase Bank: You're 'Stealing' My House {AOL Real Estate}
Feb 10th 2013 9:10AM Frank,
Finally a voice of reason!!! If you accept a mortgage you are risking that something may happen in the future that will make you unable to keep up the payments. That is a risk assumed by both the mortgagor( the home owner) and the mortgagee (the bank). If the worst case scenario develops, the bank is stuck with a house it doesn't really want and the homeowner is out on the street. The homeowner has the edge because they can leverage the bank's reluctance to repossess the property to work out a reasonable modification. But it is up to the bank to decide to make those concessions or not. If they happen to have a steady stream of buyers waiting to pay cash for the property or the mortgagor has poor prospects of ever making payments, then they neither legally or otherwise have any obligation to work a modification. What is wrong with the world that people can't see this?
Steve Salton's Tigers, Leopards at His Home Are Dragging Down Home Values, Neighbors Say {AOL Real Estate}
Feb 9th 2013 12:36PM As an animal lover and supporter of WWF, I certainly would balk at living next door to these big cats. From the pictures and info it seems these are caged in a very confined space. While I don't doubt the owner's sincerity I question how well the animals can do in such a confined space. after all zoos are abandoning these caged exhibits in favor of creating open animal parks/habitats. There are many real sanctuaries where these animals could be better cared for.
I am with the neighbors on this one. Exotic animals have NO place in a residential cul de sac. "Escape-proof" fence is a fanciful ideal.....it ignores human error, vandalism etc. The local council/community needs to come together to find a solution with the end point being to get the animals, with or without their current owner, to a more suitable location.

Jan 8th 2013 2:04PM Terry,
I have visited Salt Lake twice and I agree with you. I was actually surprised at the prevalence of alcohol - no different than any other city. I found plenty to do and really loved the city. I want to return in winter for the access to skiing. I would never have put Salt Lake on the above list!!!

Dec 21st 2012 8:50AM What a nasty little person you sound. Why is it any business of yours what they do behind closed doors. You, like the neighbors, need to get a life of your own, so you don't have time to poke your nose into other people's private business.

Dec 21st 2012 8:44AM Good! At least the police couldn't drum up some silly ordinance to shut them down! Why is it any business of the neighbors what these people do in their own home behind closed doors? If, as the name suggests they are a bunch of guys living out the college life style to a webcam and making enough money to afford this mansion, good for them!
A Solo Stroll Through Baghdad {Gadling}
Dec 16th 2012 6:34PM Michael,
Thanks for a fascinating post. I grew up drink the Vietnam era and though I was never in the military my first visit to that country in the early 90's was bitter sweet. A beautiful country, a delightful people and hard to believe that so many thousands of my generation gave their lives in a conflict that is now a troubled memory for both sides.
I hope you get your wish to return there someday soon.
A Solo Stroll Through Baghdad {Gadling}
Dec 16th 2012 5:04PM Very interesting to read this. I have talked to people who have toured in Kurdistan but didn't even know one could enter Baghdad unless one had some military purpose. Will follow your posts.
Thanks
Survey Suggests American Airlines Has Rudest Employees Among Domestic Carriers {Gadling}
Dec 13th 2012 9:05PM I have flown all over the world and I have found that Delta is invariably the most pleasant by far. American and United are at the bottom of my list, not because of their flight attendants but the multiple times they have jerked me around with "computer errors" lost baggage, change of flights change of itinerary ( tow stops instead of one) and even changing departure airports at the last minute. Us Airways, Alaska and Frontier are fine. I have never flown Jet Blue.
