Why Speed Limits Are Irrelevant {Gadling}
Jul 18th 2012 2:42PM Those states with the slowest speed limits only have those low limits because there are way too many people in the areas. I live in Maryland outside the DC area and commute to Baltimore. The speed limits on the highways I take are 55 and 65. I rarely can go those speed limits mainly because there are a billion other people on them and the jerks who attempt to go way over cause accidents. I have seen that too many times- people passing to go faster or tailing the person in front of them to force them to speed up and then they don't notice people braking and being forced to swerve into other lanes or off the roads. Do I want higher speed limits? Yes. In certain areas though it is asking for trouble.
What's for dinner? NYC airport geese soon to be served on a platter {Gadling}
Jun 22nd 2011 1:55PM I'm sorry to all those who think this is a horrible idea and cruel but you clearly do not live in an area infested with these birds. I do- and they are disgusting mean animals. We have a pond in our neighborhood which we cannot even access without being attacked be geese or side-stepping piles of their poop all over the paths, roads, sidewalks and grass. It is a health hazard having that many geese in one area. There is no curb on their population and they no longer migrate like they should. I have lived there for several years now and it only gets worse and worse.
Birds do cause a problem to airplanes, and geese I can imagine will cause more and more problems if they are allowed to live at the airport. They will continue to breed and geese are very stubborn once they have large numbers. They would fly right at the plane, stand on the runways without budging and who knows what else. They have every right to move them from their land. I am not calling for the extinction of a species but something needs to be done about the population boom of these birds on the east coast. They are a health hazard in many ways.
James Franco a 'Disaster' at Oscars; 'Draft Billy Crystal' Movement Begins {PopEater}
Feb 28th 2011 9:39AM I though Anne Hathaway did a great job- especially when you considered how messed up Franco was. I have never been a fan of his and after this, I probably won't be. I agree with the writer too- I watched his interview before the show and it was so awkward I imediately knew a disaster was about to happen. But it was a definite high when Billy Crystal walked out- I would watch him host any time!
Luxist Giveaway: Win A Balsam Hill Christmas Tree {Luxist}
Nov 9th 2010 9:31AM I would love this tree! My boyfriend and I just got a place together and he can't have a real Christmas tree due to allergies. This would be the perfect compromise for the two of us and would make our first holidays together even more perfect!
Pass, Then Fail {MyDaily}
Oct 14th 2010 3:05PM This article is false. According to CNN who interviewed the driver, it was a 34 year old man, not a teen. Now I do not think teens are the best drivers, but it isn't fair to keep marketing this as a teen driver! Adults are often more careless then teens!

Teva introduces flip flops with lights - and you can win a pair! {Gadling}
Mar 25th 2010 3:22PM OMG I would use these all the time- especially in my basement/storage room- it's so dark in there and I wouldn't have to worry about any critters I can't see!
Waiter Rant -- Should You Tip Regardless of Bad Service? {Lemondrop}
Nov 4th 2009 4:04PM Tipping should be optional! That's one thing I learned when I lived abroad where in London, they found it odd that us Americans tried to tip everyone. They would treat us nice and in orderly fashions and we didn't have to tip. I have had some truly awful experiences in restaurants before and if I am that offended I won't feel guilty for not tipping. Like the author says, the waiter's attitude is what makes their tip. So if you hate people and can't deal with it don't be one! I have been given horrible food or mistakes with my order and been furious but if the waiter or waitress was nice to me about it, then I could deal. But when they act like an ass because they think I should take what I'm given then they have nothing coming to them. This is a land of choices and work hard and you will be rewarded. I refuse to pay for someone's mediocrity.
O and I have been a waitress and worked in several retail jobs and customer service so I know what these people deal with.
