I Was Bitten by a Brown Recluse Spider {Asylum}
Apr 8th 2010 9:46PM
Brown Recluse bites are dangerous, and should be seen by a Dr. as
soon as you notice that raw oozing sore anywhere on your body,
usually two or three days after being bitten. One does not feel the
bite of this spider. MOST(95%) REPORTED BROWN RECLUSE SPIDER BITES,
WITH THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS A BITE, ARE NOT SPIDER BITES AND OCCUR IN
AREAS WHERE THESE SPIDERS HAVE NEVER BEEN FOUND, BUT SHOULD RECEIVE
IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION. These wounds are STAPH INFECTIONS and
could be MRSA infections as was mine. Prompt treatment is critical.
I am a Pest Control Operator with yearly technical training including
the spider status.
My medical Dr. advised me that for the past maybe ten years, there
has been an epidemic of staph infections, especially involving those
in school athletics. Many of my family, friends, customers and
potential customers have developed these infections and with prompt
medical attention, have been treated and recovered. I have never, in
17 years of pest control professionally, ever found a Brown Recluse,
but I see ten or more staph infections every year.
On the other hand, I see many Black Widow spiders. Their bite is felt
immediately, and their venom attacks the nervous system. Hope this
information saves someone the suffering of such an infection.
First graders go on field trip to teacher's same sex wedding {ParentDish}
Oct 15th 2008 9:18AM When a union of partners in a same sex "marriage" produces an offspring that is the product of the two partners, then I will possibly begin to believe that same sex marriage is normal and valid. My guidebook for my life and beliefs teaches that a man shall not lie down with a man as with a woman as it is wrong to do so. I somehow fail to find any support to the idea that marriage is for any other purpose than for preserving the existance of our species.
Companionship is the choice of the individuals involved in the relationship, and those individuals make their own free will choices and suffer the benefits and consequences of that companionship.
Southwest Airlines Imposes Dress Code on Passenger {Gadling}
Sep 3rd 2008 9:51AM AMAZING it is that everyone is concerned with what she was wearing when the issue began when a fellow male passenger complained about what he was observing that she was NOT wearing. The SWA FA apparently simply responded to that complaint. Was she sitting on an aisle seat as the passangers were loading? Is there actually room to cross one's legs as has been suggested? Or is SWA choosing to take all the heat and condemnation from the above who have addressed everything else but the real issue as did TV interviews where she wore white panties for all to see?
The Scourge of Accidental Dialing {Switched}
Jun 12th 2007 11:02PM Eight years ago my Mom suffered a severe stroke about ten pm. My brother called to say they were going to the hospital. Three hours later, I dialed the cell of my brother's wife and it connected but no answer. I then realized I was listening to the conversation in my Mom's hospital roomm I heard her voice and understood every word. My brother and Dad were explaining all to her and to the others in the room. I put my house phone on speaker and my wife and I lay in bed and listened to my Mom talking for the last time in her life. She died before I could get there the next day. After fifteen minutes of listening in on that room full of conversation, and without getting anyone to answer, I disconnected and redialed my sister-in-law. this time she answered and I told her the story. They never heard the phone ring, but were busy getting all the news about my Mom as were my wife and I just as though we were there. Never figured how that happened, but was so glad it did. thanks and goodby Mom.
