BTW did you somehow know the terms/coverage of her insurance policy before you suggested she "roll over" and give up when her original contract didn't mention a dog issue per her statement?

Jul 25th 2012 3:10AM ....hey Gary, you seem to forget (or too young to remember) all of the "safety" things that have been implemented in the US over the last 40 years. Since you must be too young to remember just how dangerous vehicles where you obviously take for granted how much safer the car you drive is. Do you know the difference between a modern day steering wheel vs. one from the early sixties? The update could make the difference between you living to old age or dying because you were impaled during a frontal impact crash. Safety latch systems on car doors, seat belts, etc. Humans (including adults and not just children) need to be protected from themselves because we as a species never use common sense. Not to mention unscrupulous manufactures that would place all of our lives in danger if not for mandated safety laws or equipment just to make the almighty dollar.

Dec 7th 2011 12:14PM ....the comments blaming the homeowners are so typical of people that don't think before they speak. We all know someone that has suffered the problems of "computer mistakes" so what happens if a homeowner paid the fee but a "glitch" shows the fee upaid? For a fire dept. to standby and let something burn is criminal! The county can put a lien on the property for the unpaid $75 assessment instead of doing the idot move of letting the home burn to the ground. Arrest the Fire Chief and any govermental employee that was instramental in creating the policy!

Nov 9th 2011 10:43PM ....don't think the theory of high cost to install residential sprinkler due to the short supply of engineers and installers is correct. Any type of new/revised building codes has a long lead time of notification before the code goes into effect. I have no doubt that by the time the new code would go into effect there would be plenty of new companies that jumped on the band wagon to new income. Probably too many.

Jun 21st 2011 5:32PM ....absolutely agree! I was raise the "old way" and turned out to be a very productive member of society. My siblings however, have raised their children the new way and have had so many problems including their children calling the parents name that I wouldn't use in a bar fight (not that I would ever be in a bar fight). My siblings don't seem to understand the connection??

Jun 20th 2011 2:31AM ....I agree! So typical of the Catholic church and its priest. A friend of mine (has passed away) was in the seminary when he was a young man. The stories he told me of the things that went on only drove me further away. The sad part is that the requirement to be celibate and not be allowed to marry is not from God. A Pope several hundred years ago banned marriage and sex for priest all in the name of money. If a priest were to marry his wife or off spring would inherit his estate instead of the church. Eliminate the wife & kids and the church gets everything. I still indicate I'm Catholic on hospital forms but thats where it ends.
